Any news when he'll be back in the team?

Anything I've read or heard recently seemed to indicate that Gowling is as good as fully recovered from his injury. But as his fitness will have suffered with only that one competitive game (on the opening day) under his belt, the bigger concern seems to be whether to throw him back in, as he's unlikely to last a full 90 minutes. If he doesn't appear on Saturday, then there's always Tuesday at Bromley, but surely at the very latest he'll have the shirt and armband on by next weekend (16th).
I don't think there was anyone who wasn't impressed by Gowling against Tranmere. Spot on timing with his defensive heading technique. I'm not sure if he get's some sort of spring or catapult action due to that hairstyle, but it works a treat. Possibly our best defensive header of a ball since Mark Ellis...or will he not prove to be superior to Aaron Downes in that particular department ?

Liam Davis ? Either still injured or on strike in protest at King Kev's sacking......probably the former . Every indication that he's also a talented player, but with no pre season behind him, even if he does ever break into the first team he'll need a month or more of games before he's starting to cope with the pace of things, and some players claim they're never properly fit in any campaign where they've missed the pre-season training. You couldn't repost this bit on the Liam Davis thread, easier to find out what's happening with certain players that way? Many thanks old bean!
