Most of the members who have been on the forum for some time, will know why the Torquay Fans Forum, is a forum just for TUFC fans and not fans of other clubs, even our no one member, or should that be our first member Capitalgull
This post is for the benefit of our newer members to explain the reasons behind such a move. When I decided to set this forum up, the first and most important thing was that the forum would be open and honest and treat every single member with respect and to make a clear statement that the forum belonged to its members and not me.
Values and principles were put in place and I firmly believed this forum would attract the sort of members that would make this a first class forum. I think every single member who has contributed to the forum has all added so much to what is now known as the quality site and I thank you all, for its you who have made this forum what it is now, after only six short months.
I took the view that I did not think having banter boards so fans from other clubs could come and post on, would add anything to the forum, I believe they can drag a forum down to a low level, something I do want to happen on The Torquay Fans Forum.
You all have set a hight standard on the forum and I will play my part to carry that on, I have never made a secret of the fact, that if anyone joins just to try and ruin or drag this forum down, then I will have no problems removing them. As you know the moderation on the forum is self moderation, JimD, Jamie, TUAFC1, Brett or I , seldom have the need to edit or remove posts.
So Dave R is happy as the forum got to 300 members before Christmas, not bad when you consider my target was only set at getting 100 by then. Thanks for all joining, the pleasure I get knowing that you enjoy being a member for me is immense and the hard work and even the heartache this place as cost me at times, seems more than worth it now.
