One of Torquay United's all time greats, the legendary Cap'n Manse, has issued a clear message to Gulls fans everywhere. "I have no doubt that if the club can continue to go with Kev and trust his philosophies, it could be in a very good place in two or three years' time,Kev has had to wheel and deal in the market, there's lads there that aren't on very good money and he's had to sell arguably the best player in Gus (Angus MacDonald). The club was close to going out of business before, so hopefully the new owners can give him a better budget to the one he's got at the moment and, with that, hopefully Torquay can start going back up."Although Cap'n Manse's timely comments were given substantial backpage coverage by yesterday's (Thursday) Western Morning News, they only seem to be appearing online today. While Cap'n Manse would be preaching to the converted as far as TFF members are concerned, where Kev surely enjoys overwhelming support, time will tell whether the club's ownership will also decide that Nico is the right man to guide us into 2017/18. That's decent of him. And to be fair, he may know a bit of the inside track from Nico about how little support he is getting from the owners.
