Oh - looks like a new poster. Wonder what the motives are is in your post? Not new to other forums, Simon, as has been posting sensible stuff on torquayfans.com for a while. Here's something more recent I tended to agree with when things were getting a bit emotionally charged the other day about confronting Harrop and GI on there. Soupdragon wrote: ↑ 24 Mar 2017, 14:36 I don't get the downer on the Trust. It is, after all, the sum of its members.
If, as a member, you want it to do something, speak up (and through the correct channels, not just on here). Send an email to the chairman. If you're not a member, and you want it to do something, then join.
Personally, I don't think the Trust should get involved in organising demonstrations that are likely to turn ugly if comments made recently on here are any indication of an outcome. Who would take them seriously afterwards? Certainly not any grant-awarding organisations. It smacks to me of just finding someone else, anyone else, to blame in this mess: whining that the Trust did nothing while Rome burned.
I'm certain that Michael and his Trust board colleagues will not be doing nothing.
But as individuals it's down to you, too, to at least try to do something. It's down to all of us, whether Trust members or not.

Oh - looks like a new poster. Wonder what the motives are is in your post? My motivation is, simply, that facts are correct. It is often the case that elected councillors/members take the flak for actions undertaken by council staff. Naturally, the council staff aren't going to put the record straight ... would you, if it's unpopular decisions being made? It winds me up, someone claiming to put forward 'facts' when I know categorically that at least some of them are no such thing. We cannot form opinions or make decisions about future actions based on them. Opinions are one thing, presenting hyperbole as fact is quite another. This is a grim enough situation for our club.

Dear Fans, It is time to point out the facts as they really are: 1. Kevin Nicholson has had his legs and arms tied by GI. 2. GI is not putting any additional money into the club, it will only pay enough to keep TUFC above water. 3. They have not put any money into any transfers and will not be doing so. 4. It is time for all fans to continue writing to the council to ask them to stop any process/idea of selling the freehold to GI or any other individual/company unless to is community owned and a vote of no confidence is put in against the mayor because I believe that he is abusing his power, along with some members of the council who sent TUFC a letter confirming that they might sell the freehold for Plainmoor. 5. I have nothing but praise for Kevin Nicholson and would urge all players of TUFC to put 100% in so that they don't go down as the players who let TUFC be relegated. I would ask all players to make the Great Escape II a reality. 6. Dave Phillips and Steve Breed may go down to Truro to watch the football like they did a few weeks ago but they will need to travel to Bodmin in future to watch them. On a final note; please support Kevin Nicholson, the fans and the TUST as much as you can. GI want to develop the site but they have hit a brick wall because they under-estimate the feelings of TUFC fans across the country. If we all stand together, we will find the money from locals and national fans together. Fans should be under no illusion, GI are banking on wearing us down; don't let it happen. Yours sincerely The factfinder Good post and my thoughts entirely. They have perhaps inadvertently "shown their hand" early a piss poor move on their part and are now regarded as the enemies of the football club by all I would imagine. My original viewpoint was to give them a chance and see what happens after all they promised so much but have delivered f**k all in their short time as owners. Dave Phillips thanks for nothing one more disastrous bad decision that could spell the end. I wonder how Thea feels after all that she and her husband have put into this club and to iop it all she wrote off her debt to these shysters. Agree with all been said i read and read and waited and waited absolutely jack shit from gi or rls whoever. They cocked up big time not offering bo diddly to the war chest for the last few games there silence spoke volumes for so called businessmen they dropped a big gooly now we will see what they are made of

"... until they publish their plans and explain their reasons for needing to own the freehold of Plainmoor before a new stadium is built we have no choice but to challenge any decision to dispose of the Plainmoor lease". That pretty much nails it. Of course, the status quo is that TUFC has a lease that runs until 2081 - so no need whatsoever for any change. The onus is on Clarke Osborne to demonstrate a compelling need to overturn the status quo - something he has shown no signs of even attempting to do as yet. Given GI's appalling track record of failing to deliver on promised new stadia, only the most gullible - so brilliantly parodied on here by Alpine Joe - would dream of letting them get their hands on the freehold. Such was the ease with which GI were able to pull off their scheme to buy the club for £1, they may have been lulled into thinking that snatching Plainmoor will be equally easy. I am sure they will be disappointed on that score. Been thinking about this, Jon. I recall finding out via the local media that Smallmead (Reading) had a negotiated reduction in years not long before it's then subsequent expiry in 2008 and "GI's" bulldozers going in shortly after the new expiry date. It was one of those surprising things to find out, a bit like reading yesterday that Plainmoor is now valued more in line with it's potential for development than it's annual rental yield.

Note how Dave Thomas claims its the forums or the TUST asking questions NOT the reporter! Bloody obvious why Harrop refuses to comment because he cannot defend his actions. Inappropriate my arse - the blokes a buffoon who treats the supporters and manager with contempt.
