Perhaps GI will down grade their 5 year plan to a more realistic one. This could be spread over 2 years - Year 1 - replace duff floodlight bulb, Year 2 - replace the other duff floodlight bulb! That would show how bright they are surely?

Nice one Simon, and it is important that we retain a sense of humour through difficult times There’s more than a hint of comedy for some, when they reflect on the biggest downgrade connected with the club over the last 12 months; TUST believing their own publicity and touting themselves as serious potential owners of the Club in 2016, to the position they find themselves in early 2017, hoping that the new owners will find something for them to do, and they acclimatize to their new life as a G.I Focus Group. In fact it wouldn’t surprise me if they’ve not already taken up the role. Has a politically correct majority within TUST’s membership insisted that we should celebrate the diversity of having some flloodlight bulbs functioning and some not ? Once a sub committee has been set up to discuss the matter further we might eventually learn the answer to the question; ‘How many TUST members does it take to change a floodlight bulb ? The harsh reality of the level of financial support indicated by the damp squib of a pre share issue, at least showed us that TUST would have struggled to finance a 5 week plan before the cash ran out (They should have taken my advice and gone for T shirt sales instead, I was even willing to help with designs) , so a 5 year cash pot is something to be celebrated. The bright future G.I have planned should have us all beaming in the long run. Let’s hope that even those troublesome TUST militants can focus on that

Oh dear - I was being serious but now I see the paucity of my proposal - GI of course would never invest that sort of money on infrastructure and may not even be around for so long?

Encouraging news for all Gulls fans today, as Geoff Harrop gives a reminder of all the hard work and planning that's going on behind the scenes, as Riviera Stadium Limited go about building a much brighter future for us. It really does require all hands to the pump and all sections of the community interested in the club to refuse to be knocked off track by negative influences. The local media can play a big part in this as they acknowledge not only the huge contribution Clarke Osborne and G.I have already made in saving the club, but also for starting to bring their Managerial and Business expertise to steer us through the difficult course towards better days. The early signs are good, and it's especially pleasing to note that Dave Thomas is already on first name terms with Mr. Osborne. But there is no fresh news yet on the planned installation of a 'local' board, possibly including some former directors, to run the club on a week-to-week basis.
At present outgoing chairman David Phillips remains in post, with Clarke the only other director.link - Dave, Clarke, 5 (Year Plan)
It's gratifying to see that a close relationship has been struck up so early, and it can only benefit the club. Too much unfounded doom and gloom, whether spread by TUST militants or others, will only drag us down. What clearer sign could there be that the Herald Express won't be joining the naysayers !

Weasel words so far - still, perhaps they will replace a couple of light bulbs at least?

Nice to sport such a relaxed stance so as to wait and see how things go at the start of the close season - I suggest that GI need to get their arse into gear well before than - we simply cannot afford to slip down the ladder any further. With the amount of time GI have spent in cahoots with the club I would expect them to have plans about the team development completed pretty soon. Of course I suspect we will see little emerge in the coming weeks.

I do believe there is a small element of fans that would like us to be relegated this season, just so they can throw more vitriol at the current owners. I don't think any fans would want us relegated. GI may have shown ambivalence to relegation this time last year before they were owners, but no fan is going to want to wish relegation from this level a year on with them as owners. I tend to agree that we can't be waiting until the close season for significant activity on the playing side, although agree with you it will be an all important time. Three teams below us won last night. Realistically it's another relegation dogfight we're braced for at this stage of proceedings. Plenty of games left, and a run of games after Barrow against sides around us to get some distance away from that trapdoor, though. Any other owner would have AJ militantly screaming for them to back or sack King Kev, but now DT has bravely blown the lid off the 'do nothing until ratification' ruse AJ initially embraced quicker than you can say "Stop President Bannon", it still appears all his Superman Clarke needs do for the 2016-17 season is chuck a few site plans at the Mayor and job's a good'un. DT further informs GI will let us know GI's plans at a forum in due course. Good to know.

To be fair, GI only said that relegation would not affect the takeover. What scuppered it in July was the Freehold issue which raises more concern and goes against what has been stated recently. However, in light of what directors were asking for the club, maybe GI were only waiting for getting the club on more favourable terms? It would be nice to know their plans before the fans forum....

...and this would be the Fans Forum that they mentioned in December, even though we are now not far from March with only two months of the season left?
I wouldn't advise anyone holds their breath, waiting for a chance to question Clarke Osborne.

From what I remember GI never said that they wouldn't mind if the club was relegated. I thought it was Dave Philips who said it, and then only so as not to load any extra pressure on the team during last seasons relegation fight. In fact a poster on btpir has confirmed that Clarke Osborne told him the club must not be relegated. I agree that the freehold issue may have scuppered the original take over.

GI are certainly such good communicators - they work by the principles of osmosis perhaps? Nothing to be remotely enthused by so far!
