It must be a lot more than sheer coincidence in the way events and appointments are unraveling. It all seems very stage-managed. Can we be forgiven in the assumption that dodgy deals have already been through murky alliances that will line pockets at the expense of TUFC? I suspect not. Clearly the playing squad needs improving, yet our wonderful new owners don't appear thus far to give a toss. As before, supporters are treated with contempt with only the occasional squeak of information being released and the local journalists, at their weekly vicar's tea party, smugly regurgitating old news, seemingly scared to challenge anything where they may cause upset. It's all going so well!

I get frustrated as well Simon but I do think there has to be a limited to the gloom and doom.
Q . Are the side worst than last years pre Jan side.
A. No as the League indicates but they clearly want something to boost confidence and I dare say new faces are needed
Q. Are GI a bunch of con men. ?
A Maybe they are very commercial but their monthers probably don't think so and maybe they could just be right.
Q Is Nicholson hopeless.?
A No most people think he's sincere, well meaning and tries really really hard ( perhaps too hard). There are and have been far worse.
Q Do I really think we will go down.?
A In a League where there are North Ferriby, Guiseley, Woking, and Southport it's probably unlikely.
Q. Have we reached our historic bottom since 1899.
A. Probably - I think most people expect the club to very slowly pick up.
Look at Lincoln. They were in a similar trough for years. Look where they are now.

Like so many supporters who are (I suspect) hardly massively overjoyed with the way our club has been mismanaged and allowed to degenerate into the mess it now is perhaps? Thus far there is little to get positive about.

Things financial will surely be compounded if Angus goes to Norwich for a tidy sum - unlikely any unexpected income will be diverted into the player budget - more likely will end up in back pockets!

Hope you can back that up when GI open libel proceedings against you.... Actually, GI are perfectly entitled to do what they wish with any windfall. They have ploughed substantial funds into the club and may wish to recoup that. They are not a charity and will not want to be in a position where they have to continually subsidise the club. |

The main stumbling block is coming up with the cash for the stadium which is likely to cost around £12million.
Main stumbling block £12m.
That isn't a little obstacle is it? It's pretty fundamental!
Shame Bill Glass did not realise that when declaring his ill-founded confidence in the project.
The only "stumbling block" I can see to TUFC having an all-singing all-dancing spanking new stadium with loads of additional revenue streams is finance.
Until we can see how the numbers stack up, it is just another pipe dream - like all the other stadia GI have planned and never built.
The trouble is that all the wasted professional fees can now be charged against the club and seen as debts of the football club - which is why it was so important NOT to hand over ownership of the club!

I too am waiting for the numbers to stack up and in the meantime working on the assumption that it is all pie in the sky. Worth noting further on in the article it goes on to say " but the council have proved (approved?) plans and agreed lease details with gaming international." Sound familiar - Beware!!!!! |
