These ain't earth shattering, Pete. Just starters for 10, maybe.
Something about what has changed since uneasy bedfellows to Dave Phillips and his concern re unreplaced Stadia and GI shifting goalposts before/what was that shift and how does he see his role working for GI and GI's main priorities.
To be honest Pete, I see Dave Phillips as now history to a large extent. Kind of prefer to look forward when it comes to him now. If it was a forum and he can make an opening statement, I wouldn't be too interested in probing it all that much if it contained much of what I would expect him to say. Draw a line. He will have had his word. Enough know what happened at the forum. Might leave him to others, me.
A general 'what are your intentions' to Clarke Osbourne, how does he see Dave Phillips role working for him and why the denial of involvement last week as starters for ten?

It's probably better to hear what they say first. Then pick over that. Agree. There is plenty already heard from Dave Phillips. With GI all we have had is last seasons quoted remarks re what division we were in this season and the denial last week or so re involvement when it comes to TUFC. No harm in getting a few collated be it here or elsewhere in the meantime. |

I would not want to censure DP until i have heard more facts. Knowing him, i am pretty sure he would have picked the lesser of several evils, in other words done his best.
Trying to get more facts, i looked up the other site run by a guy called Merser, he called this outcome weeks ago. However site is run like a right wing dictatorship, banning people who disagree with him etc. Not to mention so much poisonous negativity. This site is at least open and honest, so fair play guys.
Bumpy road ahead - but what's new?

I agree with some of the above sentiments; Dave Philips and the 'current' board are or soon will be history, there is no point in mud slinging with them. Also it probably is better to wait and hear what GI have to say first then respond to that.
However I am curious about what Peter Masters said about there being a number of conditions that GI will be obliged to fulfil. What are these conditions and how are they to be forced to comply with them? Also it was stated earlier this year that GI would reinstate the youth set up; is that still the case?

Indeed better to wait and see what they have to say and look for any cracks in their statement which I'm certain will contain a ceratain amount of vague propositioning that will need to picked to death.
They will of course have to try and conv ince us that they re here for the good of the club, its employees and the supporters.
Words though mean absoloutly nothing when large sums of money are involved and the old and wise amongst us know full well they will use all the tricks in the book to gain our confidence.
Oh yes fishtown "the forum in the know" never again its a vehicle for overblown egos, glad I'm back to civilisation.

Quite interesting how TUFC forums have expanded and evolved over the years. Mervo started it all off with his forum that eventually changed to Torquay fans before he went overseas. Dave clashed with the mods on that site which led to him creating this site before the unfortunate demise of his wife ultimately led to him withdrawing. Merse really added to this site initially but could not abide by its ethos which led to him creating his own forum! So TUFC supporters have a distinct choice of forums whether that is , one, two or three to contribute on. Ideas and news will therefore spread across all thee forums although this will be disseminated in different ways. Probably not productive to call other Torquay supporters on different sites Nazis, Communists etc but to vote with your feet or keyboard!  |

Talking of complete fucktards I've just read on faceache that there is to be an protest outside the club at 5pm today! Can't breathe it's that funny! I haven't got the heart to tell them there will be no one in the building! Couldn't make it up it's hilarious!

Good point - although i used the word "right wing" i mis-used it - i think "authoritarian" would be the correct adjective. |
