Obviously do not know the ins and outs of any negotiations but after rejecting TUST in favour of other interest, to lose one preferred bidder is unfortunate, two could be disastrous and reduces the chance of finding anyone suitable in the self imposed GI deadline we got. Really worried now.

The board are controlling things and the future of the club is in their hands, whether fans like it or not. You are absolutely correct Florida. It is THEIR club not OUR club, so they will have to sort it out not us. Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. It was reasonable to put forward the positive and constructive proposal of a community share option. This could have changed things for the better. It was reasonable to persist in making this option available despite regular kicks in the teeth. Now the clock has ticked past the witching hour, the only sensible option left is to cross our fingers and pray. I don't think it is a particularly good plan, but unfortunately it is the only one we have left. Let's cling to the hope that the board can pull a rabbit out of the hat. If not, negotiating with Gaming International may be more productive than the last eighteen months of trying to talk to people who refuse to listen. GI may not bleed yellow and blue but at least they live in the real world.

The board are controlling things and the future of the club is in their hands, whether fans like it or not. This much is true in the immediate sense. What some fans fear is that they will somehow be left to pick up the mess from GI's many and varied attempts to get Plainmoor at some point. Will their spin sway any including those steeped in business experience or will it be from day one until the remains require rescue that their modus operandi is understood and appreciated by enough still to bring about that rescue. I'll happily say that I now want private ownership to take over at TUFC before 31st January and for GI to have no influence in this. I am not convinced a Board that created this set of circumstances has the wherewithal to get a takeover over the line without a fair slice of luck in that timeframe. I hope they succeed. They kept fans at a distance for a long time during their tenure and that potential rescue ship for this beleaguered Board sailed a couple of weeks back given the imminent GI deadline. Like it or not. The least they can now do is hand us over to someone who won't destroy us. I wish them luck. I really do.

Concur - much of the concern is about the way affairs have been conducted in a manner that has alienated many supporters. If the themes around GI and that loan end up being a reality I just wonder if the fan base will remain sufficient to support the club in the future in whatever guise?

Because maybe they produced some proof they actually had some money? Speaking of forum conjecture...

I get the feeling that with the directors putting an asking price for the club commiserate with a moderate detached house (£200000 - £300000? ), it may be more the case of TUST not having the funds to buy them out as fans won't and can't fund that sum to a grouping that were effectively gifted the shares of the club last year. I hope that this is also not proving a sticking point to alternative deals elsewhere and while I wouldn't begrudge them getting that, if this is the overriding consideration then gawd knows who we will get lumbered with.

Still no official statement from the club. Is it possible the deal is not yet dead?

Suppose the spectre of GI draws ever closer!

Depressing thought. With still no statement from the club we can only hope talks are ongoing with other parties.

I would say that with the deafening silence emulating from the club that the deal mooted as likely to complete last week is almost certainly off. Let us hope there is another option out there.... I have never understood why the club is on the market for a couple of hundred grand. Enough for anyone coming in to pay off GI and then invest in the club let alone pay off the director's for their troubles. I almost hope this is a sticking point for some interest out there as it is the one variable that the club can control. Are we in the last saloon or are we past that?

Sadly, I suspect there is no deal anywhere in the offing and that our destiny will be at the behest of the bunch of those fiscal retards in GI!

I think I'm right in saying the Board have not said anything about a week, ten days or two weeks. Wasn't that just press speculation .?
I think it's 50-50 that the Midlanders are still around somewhere. if they had flown away wouldn't the club have to say it. It's a week since the Chairman was a little negative at the Solihull game.. When someone key didn't show. That's a fair time to just let things drift...but perhaps I'm just hoping..

He only quoted the chairman saying end of the month to complete the deal but any speculation would have been based on off the record conversations. If someone didn't show then there either has to be a good reason or any trust is gone.

All very worrying. Guess it is a case of hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. Fingers still crossed.
