I suspect it is to do with the decision due to be made between club and TUST on 31st October. Or at least hope it is.

I think the board offered TUST a first refusal on the club. Unfortunately the club is so far up shit creek TUST could not possibly accept there and then without further discussion amongst themselves. If TUST do not take on the club then the only other options are Masters and/or GI, or administration. I would put my money on the latter.

How the thinking has changed. Pity this was not looked at more closely earlier this year or even last before we got so far up the creek. Unfortunately, the "be quiet and trust us" mantra means the Board has lost its credibility with a lot of fans and suspect any forum will be difficult for them.

If my memory serves me right, and it probably doesn't, didn't TUST arrange for a representative of SD to talk to the board earlier this year. After first agreeing to meet him the board then snubbed him at the meeting. This was at about the time GI became involved. So essentially nearly a whole year has been wasted as the club sinks further into the shit, possibly terminally.

plainmoorpete It probably depends on your definition of 'snubbed' Pete, but you're dead right that SD did send one of their top 'Lefties' down. We didn't have a red carpet rolled out to acknowledge his importance or have a plate of prawn sandwiches laid on for him to partake of. Never mind, might not be long before he's arranging another 1st class return rail ticket so that he can come down to visit us. Just out of interest I had a peep at the guy's twitter account this morning. Following (among others), T he Guardian Social Enterprise, Guardian Sport, Kevin McCarra, Former Football Correspondent of the Guardian, Michael Cox, football writer for the Guardian, David Conn, writer for the Guardian. If you want to know what the bloke thinks, it's easier and cheaper to spend £2 at the newsagents than go to the expense of bringing a walking talking version of The Guardian down to Devon ? If he's coming down to spout more of his Left wing claptrap, Mr.Mathie can jolly well remember to pack his own sandwiches this time

Not sure if it is worth focussing on the pitch activities as the Board cannot spend anything and won't be around for much longer anyway. Hopefully someone can finance some spending in January for which we are desperate. For me, the big question is how the ownership of the club is transitioned and any liabilities are dealt with.
Should be there at least for the first part to get a flavour for what is going on. Anyone else going?

If Oliver Cromwell was a TUFC supporter and going to the forum he may have said this to the "rump board"
"You have been sat too long here for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!

Alternatively, in the words of the Kaiser Chiefs " I predict a riot, I predict a riot".

The other TU site is claiming that GI/Masters have taken over the club and appointed Steve Tully as manager. I have no idea whether or not this is true.

On the upside, there is an opportunity to fundraise - should make a healthy profit on pitch folks and flaming torches if you fancy setting a stall up at Plainmoor - might make a damn sight more than a quiz night!!!

Not really surprised by anything today.
It's been clear what this lot were up to for months.
I can't stand the phony war - like being a turkey waiting for Christmas.
The sooner we know who we are up against the better.
Forum will be interesting!

Only able to stay for 40/45 minutes due to having to pick up kids from Paignton.
I must admit that I felt some sympathy for the remaining board members as confirmed that the "leavers" took their investment money with them leaving them hamstrung more or less from the start. The "remainers" have actually added more to their initial investment and do not have anything else to give. I think they said the losses have been reduced from 500k to 180k pa over the course of their tenure.
It was agreed that GI were not the right bedfellows but justified their decision at the time by saying there would be no club without that money! I still think they are looking to sell the club for the price of a detached house and maybe that is to recoup those additional ingoings that perhaps were not part of the plan. Hopefully, not to pay off a director's newly mortgaged home. Money has been paid directly into the club as opposed to raising share capital which may have been mentioned elsewhere previously.
The good news is that GI are not in the picture when it comes to the interest shown and the club are looking for proof of funds that this debt can be paid down. They did not answer the question again what money will be paid for the club shares themselves - remember sold to them for £1.
So 2 offers on the table, one of which is acceptable, further work still on going to determine the suitability of the other. Also interest shown from 2 other parties but the Board are hoping to nail down details of these in the next fortnight to enable a decision to be made as GI need paying off.
So the Board have the most important decision to be made during their Rocky tenure as to whom the club passes to. If there is a viable option out there and they get it right then well done and I will be the first to salute them. Get it wrong and they were very clear that they would have no influence on proceedings after the handover then it could be curtains and people will point to the TUST option and ask why it was not taken up. Very difficult decision to make and in a time constrained pressure cooker that maybe the GI ONE was taken in.
