The most baffling aspect of the past six months is that the property developers have been brought into our midst by people we thought we could trust and who we thought had the club's long-term interests at heart.
Let's hope that it turns out to be more of a Pythonesque wooden rabbit than a Trojan horse.

So, we can only conclude that the directors either genuinely believe this is a wonderful opportunity or are placing short term considerations above long term ones? There are lots of things that baffle me at present and just Don't add up. Why drop TUST without even listening to them! Why use Masters as a special adviser? Why the low season ticket offer? Why sell to GI with their track record? Why are they the best people to take advantage of a development opportunity? Why the long period of exclusivity - was that extended or not? Why the secrecy?

Curious as to why there are missing posts? Reminds me of a girl I used to know! She told the odd lie, called her Miss Information! RJD would it be impolite to accidentally repost those lies ( sorry I mean fairytales ) that were originally posted? We would hate to highlight such things but what was stated can't just be deleted! Is anyone cataloguing all of what has been said by all parties involved in this charade? I'd like to read it all again but I'm not sure my sphincter can handle it!!!

I've read a poem about Miss Information!
Can you confirm what and whose posts you are taking about?

Can someone post up TUST's latest here? My phone won't let me do the cut and paste. Cheers. Selling Plainmoor??? View this email in your browser Torquay United Supporters Trust (TUST) notes the short statement about the takeover of the club. However TUST is uncomfortable that the statement effectively amounts to an ultimatum which gives Torbay Council little more than a week to decide upon the freehold of Plainmoor. Any decisions made by Torbay Council must comply with the terms of the 2011 Localism Act. TUST reiterates that any decision must be in the best interests of the town, its people and the urban environment. It must not be at the behest of a company - either directly or through one of its subsidiaries - which has a record of failing to deliver similar projects in other towns. Furthermore TUST is alarmed that Gaming International is using Riviera Stadium Ltd (RSL) as a vehicle for this takeover. Companies House records show this company was only established on 22 March with a single director (Clarke Osborne) and a total shareholding of no more than £1,000 wholly in the name of Gaming International. TUST will be making further statements over the next few days regarding the current custodianship of Torquay United and our concerns about the suitability of Gaming International. We will also be re-affirming our view that community ownership of both Torquay United and Plainmoor are essential components of a sustainable, successful, community-minded football club. "I would like to put forward an alternative option that will give supporters the confidence that they will have influence on any plans that directly affect the club. Plainmoor is listed as an Asset of Community Value and I call on David Phillips and his board to support a community share issue that will allow supporters to purchase the Plainmoor freehold, thus ensuring that supporters will always have a say regarding the future of their club." Just like good old days when that nice, honest, genuine football man Chris Roberts ran the club (into the ground)! Do we never learn from such gross past mistakes? Utterly shambolic . A pity all the Directors can't just feck off!

At least we have plan A out in the open now.
Sell to property developers who will build a nice shiny new stadium for us with lots of income streams that will enable the club to prosper from all of this. Somehow I can't see that happening on so many levels which has been discussed on numerous occasions here and good to see TUST with an instant riposte rebutting the thinking behind this. I hope TUST make a go of this and maybe their hour has come.....
Good to see the clarification about Masters on dot com whose role is limited to ground sharing. Hopefully that arrangement hasn't been turned on its head.

It's as if they are saying... 'Oh, just in case you noticed him hanging around, Pete is just... you know, seeing if we want to share the ground, with them, nothing more - he's not causing any harm...'I suspect he has a role to play in all this still.

I suspect he has a role to play in all this still. I hope not! Did not like his role in the TUST debacle ie. Not his business. Do not like him mooted as a special advisor. Any lessening in his influence has got to be a good thing.

After nearly four months of due diligence, Gaming International has concluded that there is more money to be made from property development than from running a football club and so has finally arrived at the conclusion that it wants the freehold.
I think most of us worked that one out within minutes of googling Gaming International.
Is our chairman really that naive or is he one of them rather than one of us? I have never doubted his motives in the past, but it does not look good does it?
There may still be time for Dave Phillips to salvage his reputation, but I don't think he has that much time before it is too late.
He says : "If we are unable to do this by the end of the month, we will open up the search for new investors".
We have been stuck in that groove for at least eighteen months. Investors want the freehold - they do not see a return on investment without it.
No, the Board will have to come up with an alternative strategy - even if that means asking if it is too late to revisit on option that was on the table and rejected six months ago.
