To all TUFC fans,
Upon hearing the very sad news recently that Steve Breed has been made redundant from his job as CEO of TUFC we were greatly disappointed. Especially in the manner in which it was done; Steve Breed was told of his redundancy outside the gates of the Guiseley Stadium prior to kick-off. As well as being made redundant, prior to the last game of the season, which I am sure was heart breaking for our CEO, this was then followed up by Dave Phillips informing Steve that he would ONLY be receiving 4 weeks’ pay!
Given the total commitment that Steve Breed has shown to TUFC, working tirelessly throughout all aspects of TUFC to ensure the security of our beloved yellows; the lack of appreciation and respect that the board have shown is contemptuous, especially after they paid Dean Edwards in excess of £30,000 for eight weeks’ work.
Regardless of the manner in which Steve Breed was dismissed, he can hold his head high; secure in the knowledge that the fans know that he has always had, and always will have, TUFCs best interests at heart. We would like to wish Steve and his family all the best.
Let’s all stand together and show a determined, enthusiastic and united front.
Yours sincerely
TU Fans Ltd

Herald commented on this HEREIs this more mischief making or have I missed something here? I would have been staggered if Steve would have stayed on after a change of ownership to whomever the club was sold to as he was an integral part of the existing consortium. As for pay, no idea as to his terms but am I right in that he has his own business to run so hardly being thrown on the scrapheap.....

It's all rubbish. The only people TU Fans represent is themselves. Correct, Steve Breed was on his way after this season until the new owners came in. Just ignore these TU Fans people. They are either full of vitriolic bile or bombed out on the psilocybin mushrooms. In fact that's where Mushroom probably got his name from. Don't bite, ignore them.

It is quite possible that Steve Breed will have wanted to get back to his own business and get back to supporting his beloved club in any event. He has followed his brief well insofaras we are still a National League Club which has appeared to cut its cloth considerably over the last 12 months; where unsustainable spending reigned prior, enabling significant investment to be interested cf: previously. I am grateful for his hard work, as I am sure are many.
I am not convinced as to GI's intentions as I don't know what they are. I am as properly convinced TUST will assist us fans with proper scrutiny of the new people as I am that TU Fans Ltd won't.

Dave Phillips informing Steve that he would ONLY be receiving 4 weeks’ pay! Redundancy payYou’ll normally be entitled to statutory redundancy pay if you’re an employee and you’ve been working for your current employer for 2 years or more. You’ll get: half a week’s pay for each full year you were under 22 one week’s pay for each full year you were 22 or older, but under 41 one and half week’s pay for each full year you were 41 or older Length of service is capped at 20 years and weekly pay is capped at £479. The maximum amount of statutory redundancy pay is £14,370.
