I would expect chelstongul will be mourning the death of Kathy Staff, the actress who played Nora Batty in Last of the Summer Wine. She has died aged 80 from an illness.

Phil users her picture as his avatar, I'm sure because some have said he looks like her. I loved the show the last of the summer wine and she will be sadly missed,

Thank you all for your kind words (PC gave up the will to live on Saturday night - have had to wait 'till I'm at work to find out what is going on).

I would like to set the record straight - I love Last of the Summer Wine, as when my wife chucks me out thats the life for me. I see myself as Cleggy, someone who lives near the Willows as Foggy and I'm looking out for a Compo character (Applications to me c/o Plainmoor).

But fancy Nora Batty (no), perhaps when she was younger!! Very good comedy battle axe comedien - will be missed by us Summer Fans.
