Herald Express 10/8/39 Teams from the first public trial including Geoff Reynolds who would lose his life in the War. Wonderful crowd scene from the Ellacombe End Cowshed. Those young boys would be in their 80 s now.

Thanks gullone.
5-3 to the Whites.
This was the first time that Plainmoor witnessed numbered players, following a decision made at the FA meeting at the Imperial Hotel, Torquay in June.
Ref Laurie Millsom had been our goalie in our first Football League match.
Five bob cheaper season tickets for ladies than for gents in the best seats.
A season ticket might not have looked a sound investment - little chance of the season lasting very long!
Spectators are respectfully requested not to cross the playing pitch after the match. I wonder if the would-be pitch-crossers had been taken in by the urban myth that there is a right of way through Plainmoor - still trotted out occasionally.

Fantastic photos. Would like them framed and put in The Launa Windows Stadium Plainmoor.
