Easier to tally these days as you don't have to remember what you drunk anymore, just count the bottles up on recycling day.......

Otter Ale (brewed up North in Honiton) is 4.5% Bays Gold (brewed in Paignton) is 4.3% Bays Topsail (brewed in Paignton) is 4.0% Support your local brewery! |

It's funny how gradually turn into your dad.
As a young soldier my interaction with alcohol was nightly and intimate. Being posted to Germany just moved me to a land where beer is a national treasure at a price that everyone could afford. Later still, a posting to Belgium introduced me to monks' beers and amazed me when I found out that Belgians don't drink my favourite (then) UK tipple, Stella Artois, or certainly not in the Flemish regions.
Of course nowadays with the advent of the internet, virtually anyone can find out almost anything about any beer. But that is irrelevant to me these days, as I have done just as my dad has, and stopped drinking alcohol since my late 40's. My dad is still around at 86 and I bet he can't remember the last time he had a beer. For me it was my mum's wake in February (when I had quite a few) but before that, who knows?
None of this is because we are born again somethings, or recovering alchies, or any other such bolloks. It just got to the stage where we couldn't do hangovers anymore. When my dad said that to me in my youth, I had no idea what he meant. Now I understand his words crystal clearly!

The Dumpling serve Otter Bitter, which is a lower ABV but not Topsail. |
