No other colour than blue and yellow should enter into the equation. The gold and blue was borne out of the golden sand and blue sky of the English Riviera. The mid 60's of gold shirts and blue shorts was nice and simple. Nothing too fancy. I quite like the yellow now but the white numbers make them difficult to see, they should have been blue. Incidentally, the first authoritative book on the history of Torquay United by the clubs first secretary (I think called Luscombe) states that Torquays first game which I think may have been played at King George V playing fields in 1899, the team played in red and white hoops. However, when they washed the kit the first time the shirts became salmon coloured so the style was abandoned for the black and white.

The end of 90/91 season Yellow & white stripes. Fantastic kit for the play offs and final at Wembley. Though I have to say I loved the Black & White "zebra" away kit of a few years ago.
