So our month of hell finally ends today but once again it is a tough one with an away trip to big spending Eastleigh. It comes hot on the heels of probably our worse performance on Saturday which may or may not be a good thing?
The main threat from Eastleigh comes in the form of old friends James Constable and Jack Judson who need no further introduction. Other players that will ring bells are Lee Cook, winger who was with Barnet last year and scored the winner against Aldershot on Saturday. In midfield, Jai Reason will feature and he was on loan to Cambridge in our Wembley play off final win six years ago. Ben Strevens will probably also be in midfield and has tonnes of league experience. Finally, they have got Poke in on loan from Portsmouth, pity, wouldn't' mind seeing him back here...
So Cox has some big decisions to make for today but does not have too many options. Fairhurst is still out, Malachi failed a late fitness test on Saturday. Possibly Marsh or Fenwick may have a chance of starting but this is going to be very difficult and levels are going to have to be much higher than on Saturday....

I'm sure I read somewhere that Cox's teams seem to have a slow start to the season, and then kick on during the second half of the season! Have we had a slow start?
My predictions have been disastrously wrong this season, so i'm going to predict a sound beating for us!

Lets hope they dont go down to 10 men, we will really struggle then! Hope the lads show a reaction to Saturday, i am sure that Cox has told them in no uncertain terms what he expects!

Your garden isn't next to "The Dumpling" by any chance is it?

Interesting, Marsh has come in for Fisher with the latter dropping down to the bench. Same team otherwise....

Make that 2. Game over already. Now have to show some real character to prevent a real hammering.

Been out but snatched pieces of commentary. Sounded pretty dire but those last two goals at least have given us something to build upon.

If only we had taken that late Briscoe chance. At least we showed some fight and did not give up which, which would have been the easy thing to do. Credit to the players for that.

Dave Thomas seemed to feel that the league position the club is at is akin to to it's finacial budget and that th eonly way forward is for future investment - well that's my opinion on what was said, others see it otherwise I believe. Certainly no way was he criticising the current board.

Certainly no way was he criticising the current board. I did not hear him say that but everyone knows that it will be very difficult to compete against the top sides in this league without further investment and this month has certainly shown that. I see DT's report with thoughts from Paul Cox is now available HERE
