Oh well as long as we finish in 20th or above. How many points is safety? Another defeat and the slide continues. Greavsy has to find a formula to get results It cant be all down to poor referees and bad luck. Losing faith in you Chris.

54 points for safety should be ok petef, but i got a horrible feeling this lot are capable of losing a tiddly winks match against a man with no arms at present. It just aint happening, hargreaves has had well long enough now, despite all the excuses he is the boss, and isnt delivering the results.

Agree with Pete here. I have desperately wanted Hargreaves to succeed but it isn't good enough to be where we are and I am starting to wonder if he is simply out of his depth. He made a big thing about being brought in to 'keep us up, or get us back up,' and we are more likely to go down again then back up, at the moment. I'm not sure what the answer is - Hargreaves still has 18 months left on his contract, so we have another year of this at the very least but as Merse would say, and I am beginning to agree, a Conference savvy manager - someone like Paul Cox, who is possibly available, might be the way to go. I suspect, however, it will be more of the same for a very long time.

loyalgull I hope this fine doesn't take more money out of the club than the crowdfunding scheme is expecting to put in.

I always maintain that first and foremost you have to be hard to beat to have any hope of success - I know they have more resources but just look at how Bristol Rovers have adjusted tactically to this dreadful league. Not always pretty but at the end of the day results have to be ground out and you have to assemble and put out players who will frustrate the opposition, especially away from home ( whats wrong with playing Young Harding and Richards?) and we simply don't have enough of that type of player. Early in the season on good pitches we looked potent enough going forwards if a little vulnerable but once the pitches cut up and got heavier we lost any effectiveness we had. It may seem a little negative but can we afford to have so many forwards on the pitch in the hope we will get a hat full of goals and only two midfielders none of which are renowned for their tackling ability. Midfield is where we are losing the initative - far to many gaps again coupled with a failure to score when on top. Loved the attacking attractive football we played early on but its clearly not working now and I don't believe we have the players to change things so Greavsy has to persist with the current style and tactics. 4 wins in 18 and still doing the same things - at this level its simply not good enough.

Sadly it looks like we are skating on thin ice now. The worrying thing is the poor recent performances which give little inspiration towards a strong end of season finish. Where do we go from here? Depressingly it looks like Conference South. Maybe time to bring in a few of the youth team and give them experience?

Another grim away day. If I'm honest I did not realise our record was as bad as only 4wins in 18. That's relegation form. I don't think we will go down but, with the play offs now seemingly beyond us, I do think we are destined to finish nearer the bottom than the top. Appointing CH was always going to be a massive gamble. Like others have said, I desperately want to see him succeed, loved him as a player/captain and would be sad to see that reputation tarnished by a poor managerial stint. However no one can deny he ain't doing the business currently and nobody will be more upset than him, of that I'm sure. I'm pretty sure that CH will still be in charge next season and hopefully he is learning from this season and will take that experience in to next. He will have a job rebuilding in the summer when after contracts expire and others move on, he may only be left with a handful of players. Perhaps no bad thing,..what we desperately need, ironically, is a player of CH's ilk in midfield. There is not enough guile, experience and at times, dare I say it, fight within the squad. This season has been chastening for all concerned and certainly blows away any illusions about how tough this league is. To go up you have to going to places like Dover, Telford, Alfreton and Dartford and winning, or at least not getting beat and as Petef rightly points out, getting results ugly when necessary. Sadly we just haven't been capable of that this season. Hopefully we can get a result next week in the trophy to keep our season alive, we need something to lift our spirits that's for sure!

total respect too the fans who still turn up at plainmoor,2000ish,despite the state we are in,they really deserve a break from the goings on of the last 2 years. The tipping point has been reached as far as i am concerned, going to the occasional game, but not over bothered.Thats after 40 years or so of missing a handful of games. The club need to show me that they are committed to getting us out of this ramshackle league,at present they are not, infact its the opposite, treading water at the very most

As predicted Lincoln, Gateshead and Dover do the business we as drop three places after another tame defeat. Season over as far as the league is concerned and another struggle looms to keep away fro the trap door Just imagine where we would be now without that unprecedented early season run of six wins we are surely in the worst spell of form at the lowest level in the history of the club. The club needs new investment and it appears Thea is growing tired of constantly propping up the finances. www.torquayheraldexpress.co.uk/TORQUAY-UNITED-Talks-future-club-gathering-pace/story-25884433-detail/story.htmlGawd help us.
