I drove past Ninian Park on the way out of Cardiff. I didn't realise that the new ground is so close to the old. The new stadium looks fantastic from the outside.

I have sat in the seats of the millenium and taken the time to look through the windows into the rugby ground. Interesting to look away from the ground and into another ground.
You can also do this at headingly cricket ground where the two stands actually back onto each other I assume they must share some facilities?
Are there any other grounds where this happens?

Before your time young Jamie, but neighbouring Bradford Park Avenue was configured in exactly the same way as Headingly for the cricket and football arenas to utilise one separating stand with seating on both rakes under one roof.

I only one I can think of from my travels would be the Nou Camp in Barcelona. The Main nou Camp stadium is linked by a sky walkway to the Palau Blau Grana which is used for Basketball, Futsal and Handball. The Palau is then linked again to the Mini Estadi across the road by another raised walkway. This a a smaller stadium where Barcelona B ply their trade. When I say smaller stadium I mean one that holds over 25,000!

Merse - I never knew BPA had the same set up. I will look around the web to see if i can find some photos.
Chris - great image of barca, I did think of that when I said it but although it is similar it doesn't actually share a stand. Cracking place though. I took my family there in april 08 (wife wasn't overly impressed but kids and I loved it!)

anyone who has visited the Parc des Prince in Paris would have seen the Stad Jean Bouin (cap:12,000) just accross the road in a similar situation to the Barca set up.

To get into the tin shed behind the goal at Darlington you had to walk round by the cricket pitch, used by Durham until the new stadium was built as Chester Le Street, after you'd paid. So I suppose they shared the same turnstiles.
You're right about Headingley - you can get into the cricket ground through the rugby ground - particularly handy if you arrive early on a Sunday with a thirst before opening time as the rugby club bar opens when someone knocks on the door!
