I was wrong. Norman Jope is still on the scene the following season. Here he treats us to a series of thoughts about football hooliganism. A "hot issue of the day" for around twenty years if I remember correctly. A couple of words from Norman that you don't see so often these days: "delinquents"and "leeches". He talks about "obnoxious words", one or two of which may well have featured in his recent poems. In the name of art naturally.
Mention elsewhere of Maurice Cox playing for England under 19s. That'll be the schools' and colleges' sixth form XI.
A nice sectional history from John Lovis. This one would have been accurate and reliable unlike one of the "histories" carried by the programme a few years earlier.
News from Mr Merson of the formation of the "92 Club" with a couple of likely local candidates for membership. I'm not sure if the term "groundhopper" had yet been coined.
Mention also of Larry Palk of Broadhempston raising £54 for the club at a whist drive. You wonder if they still do that type of thing in those parts.
