These programmes from the mid to late 1970s can be hard work. They're unexciting reminders of a generally unexciting time. Mike Green requests us to keep faith. Mine was wavering because of disinterest.
I was at Sheffield United v Plymouth Argyle the day we faced Halifax. I'd forgotten all about it. I'm surprised. I've written a note next to the teams: NB Plymouth Relegated. Thanks for the prompting the memory, Timbo. Much appreciated.
Back to Plainmoor and it reads as if Norman Jope is signing off for good. Letters about next season please to Alan Merson at the Gulls Shop. I'm sure there's still time to mail Alan your thoughts.
Norman Jope, as has been mentioned previously, is now a poet. Here is an extract from his A Reflexive Interlude (3):
Gods with nothing inside
The Baptist to Salome – ‘Du bist verflugt.’
In the middle of a dream, it becomes too clear that the dream’s a dream and, shaking with the chill of mortality, one wakes.
