This is the second of three consecutive midweek games on what is a very hectic stage of the season against many of the top teams in this division! No wonder Hargreaves is looking at rotating players to keep things fresh! On paper, this is one of the easier teams to play in this run but a quick check of their form shows that since we played them, eight home games have yielded seven wins and a draw!
Dover are actually unbeaten in six games and capped off this run with a superb away win at Gateshead on Saturday! They are just 4 points behind us now. Despite this run of form, their manager has recently strengthened his squad with in the form of loan signings with Callum Davies from Gillingham and James Poole from Bury with both featuring as substitutes on Saturday. Top scorer is Stefan Payne, who scored a shed load with Hornchurch last season. Only came on as a late substitute at Plainmoor but has scored nine so far, including three in the last week which is one more than Bowman!
Ironically, the Eastleigh match was our first clean sheet since the previous Dover match with the same score line and both characterized by late goals making all three points safe. Hopefully, this is a sign that our defence is improving and have been particularly impressed with Berry so far with Ives showing signs of promise.
With Barnet and Halifax to come in the next week will be interesting to see if Hargreaves rest a couple of players or sticks with a winning side? This is a pretty long journey for us although Dover have just come back from their longest trip of the season....

Very disappointed. Why can we not defend leads? So many points thrown away recently....

Very disappointed. Why can we not defend leads? So many points thrown away recently.... Happened last season as well -gawd knows where we would be if we only played 80 minutes! Been stuck in a meeting tonight so just heard a few minutes on the radio - sounded like desperate defending and not very secure at the back at all!
