This is a tough game against a side that are coming here on the back of two homes wins and in the process leapfrogged us in the table making this an early season six pointer! Unfortunately, due to various transgressions, we have lost both the spine of our team in Downes, Richards and Ofori-Acheampong and much of our goal scoring threat!
In addition to those home wins, Wrexham have walked away with maximum points from away fixtures at Barnet and Forest Green. They also have the return from injury of midfield duo Jay Harris and Rob Evans who will be able to give them more options. Players to watch out for are defender Manny Smith and top scorer Louis Moult with five so far.
In some respects, a shake up of a tired young side is not such a bad thing. Pearce for Downes, Wakefield for Richards shouldn't weaken us too much there. The problem is who should partner Bowman up front. Putting Yeoman there has a good ring to it but maybe Ajala will get the nod after his work during Bowman's suspension, particularly as Cameron and Briscoe are fit again?
Really hope a good crowd gets down there tomorrow and sorry for the lateness of this op but lost the previous write up!!!!

Not optimistic. Missing key players that have performed well in our better performances and having watched Wrexham a couple of weeks ago when they were a real threat at Chester and should have been four goals up at halftime In a crazy game they eventually lost in extra time. They also have fleet footed wide left midfielder, Wes York, who will give Tonge a hard time if he performs like he did that night.
We will need to get stronger if we are to challenge for the top places and in all honesty Im not sure how that will happen given the dreadful refereeing decisions particularly the Richards one in midweek an innocuous challenge that he should have got off with a warming. Decisions like that turn form and seasons around and watching a Sottish Premier league match tonight Killi v Dundee Utd you wouldn't think it was the same game or set of rules with challenges flying in left right and center and the referee just waving play on. Unbelievable.
Tough game without Duane Ofori Achampong and Courtney Richards though Ajala is back from his one match ban. Little central defensive cover though here is the least of our worries and Luke Young will have to form a fresh partnership in the middle Wakefield being the obvious choice but doesnt have the dynamics of Courtney. Who will play alongside Bowman? Another big ask to replace a hard working and difficult to play against forward in Duane maybe he will go with Briscoe in that role - him or Yeoman I guess.

Ah, thanks for reminding me about Wes York pf! I wouldn't be too confident with Tonge and Briscoe on the right together and maybe Ajala should be on the right with as you say, Briscoe in the supporting striker role - certainly has a good shot on him and knows where the goal is!

At this point, under the circumstances, I would be happy with a draw. Oh yes, and a half decent referee!

Don't really hold out much hope for this game to be honest...don't worry, Simon will be along shortly to cheer us all up with his talk of a guaranteed 3 points! Wrexham are in good form and we are all over the place, and to be honest I don't see that changing today! Even to the extent of yet another sending off for us!
The thing I believe the younger players need is a father figure, and If we had a Bransonesque type player on the pitch I believe a lot of our problems would be solved. Giving back chat to refs and silly tackles would be a thing of the past with a threat of a clip round the ear from Branno! Of course it would be "Against Their Human Rights", for this to happen to any of our young players, but i'm sure another threat from Branno of a "Kick In The Nuts" would stop anyone of them saying anything! Of course our intrepid manager is only young himself, so he can't really be called a father figure. And after saying a few weeks ago that he wasn't that bothered about all the yellow and red cards we had received, it suddenly became like The Glorious 12th! Since that statement we have played two games, with three red cards and numerous yellows! Don't get me wrong though...I still think Hargreaves is the right man for us.
On to Alfreton. I think we all know what's going to happen there don't we. Our ex player going by the name of couldn't hit a cow in the c**t with a musket Hawley, will have a field day! Speaking of Alfreton, I was hoping that when I stayed with BT they would be showing Torquay matches coming from...well, Torquay! Instead, they are showing a match that I was actually going to attend! Still, never mind, I can't go anyway because i'm away on a weekend Buddhist retreat on Emptiness.
All I hope though, that with the FA Cup coming up in a couple of weeks, we sort all our problems out by then. Because we all know how important a good run can be, and with another £382.000.000.000 needed for the "White Elephant" (or training ground), I feel we need to do well this year!
