Having just watched the highlights (which is an excellent package by the way) I cant help thinking Downesy, though deserving of a card, is being a bit over villified. He looks to be trying to get his leg around the defender to hook the ball away and clearly does not make contact with his studs or boot yet the defender is writhing around like he'd been studded at full power. We've seen worse tackles not even resulting in a booking (Bodin last season springs to mind)...Heres the link so make your own minds up... Link

Thanks for the link DVN great coverage probably the best I have viewed this season. After all the recent accolades Ricey unfortunately reverts to type - at least three of those goals were preventable by the keeper. What came over him and just rooted to the line for the fourth. Hopefully a one off but it puts pressure on him next game so lets see how he responds.

In one of the pictures above, you can see three people walking along. One of them is obviously ChelstonGull 'cause he's scratching his arse, so who are the other two...nice to put a face to names. I was getting something out of my pocket, no scratching involved. The young and thin one is my youngest, Chelston Tom and the old and fat one is Jon.

So that's Jon...looks nothing like the picture he uses for his avatar! Then again, I was going to put a picture of Brad Pitt up for mine...and he certainly looks nothing like me!

I always felt we were going to lose that game - the leggy performance at home to Dover the week before hinted at a patchy bit of form awaiting us. However, watching the goals, it is still so disappointing to see such needless goals conceded. Like DVN, I feel Downes is being a little unfairly maligned. It was a crude, clumsy challenge but I don't sense the malice some are suggesting. It was just a carthorse, clattering challenge. He got a red - fair enough but I have seen much much worse challenges, such as Bodin's as DVN demonstrates with his link.

Thank you Jon for informing the entire world - for the record it was a small blob of cream required to the cheek. I do think it's rather indiscreet of him to reveal the nature of Chelston's distress. Aplogies. I hadn't realised that I wasn't supposed to mention Chelston's arse. I mentioned it once but I think I got away with it all right.

So that's Jon...looks nothing like the picture he uses for his avatar! The avatar is the one and only Crad Evans!

So, I had to apologise to a Telford steward for the behaviour of some of our fellow fans. About 5 or 6 16-19 year-olds. Absolutely battered and should have been kicked out but as the Steward admitted at the end of the game as they were doing a runner, he had been too nice and lenient before KO and at half-time.
They thought they could take on the world - must have been drugs as well as the drink! - them all being 9-stone dripping wet!
Complete nobs and a waste of a day out; too much money, too little brains I guess.
Anyway, back to the match - I found myself yearning or Scott Beavon to be back in goal - more height on the keeper and two of their goals wouldn't have been.
