After a tough schedule, it has been a much needed few days off with no mid week game this week although the trio of Bowman, Cameron and Young should have spent the last couple of days training at St George's Park near Burton. Typically, we have another two away games in three days although things then ease off next month with just four scheduled games and trips to Shropshire and Gloucestershire are relatively local for us!!!!
Telford have struggled to adjust to an higher league this season and indeed have yet to win, managing just three draws although one was against Barnet. Incidentally, they have lost 3 games after every one of those draws and this will be their third game since their last draw do will hopefully continue that sequence!!!
Devoid of confidence, their manager played most of his first team against Market Drayton in the Shropshire Senior Cup and recovered from 1-1 at half time to gain a morale boosting 6-1 win. The downside of this is an extra game for a part time team that normally have only two training sessions a week. Top scorers are Tony Gray and Mike Phenix with 4 each.
Torquay go into this one looking to extend both their winning and clean sheet sequences and will be more or less at full strength. I suspect Cameron will be starting this one, both for good form and the left footed balance he brings. If Chappell makes way, I'm sure he will be brought on as a sub to use his pace against tired legs! Another win could see us go top which is the aim of the game and reward for how things have been turned around!

Sounds like only Bowman and Young attended the England C training camp which was more strenuous than anticipated. Hargreaves is trying to get the green light to travel up on Friday... link

So, bottom versus second, easy three points for us...nah, we don't do things the easy way-I can't remember the last time I felt confident about going into a game. No news about whether we are travelling up on the day of the match or not. Hargreaves has managed to put together a great team (seemingly on next to nothing) and has also managed to put us in a comfortable position in this league, so he might be expecting a little help from his friends! I wonder if second thoughts have already started to creep into his mind and his thoughts wander to the piles of gold stashed at Northampton, and how much easier life could have been!

Over confidence is the biggest danger but we must go into the game confident of getting another win and its more about belief in how we are going about things in every game no matter who the opposition is. One thing that we have yet to see in our character and that is how we come back from being behind in a game and on the next level how we respond to defeat. Confidence and belief is a major factor in how well we do this season and at the moment theirs plenty of that around the club and long may it continue.

Looking forward to seeing Torquay on a new ground. Bit special for me this one as its forty years to the day...ish since my very first football match 28th Sept 1974 Torquay v Northampton. Being top of the league on Sunday morning is not too much to ask........surely.

If you see a tall slim handsome young man flanked by Art Garfunkel and Charlie Fairhead, please come over and say hello. Current plan is lunch at the Wetherspoons by Wellington station. Chelston would like to buy you a pint as a thank you for the old programmes you have posted up.

Chelston Junior is the spitting image of that dashing young milkman who had the Upper Chelston round in the early to mid 90s.

Safe journey to those travelling up and looking forward to those match reports. Pity that the Forest Green game Isn't today as virtually a local Derby!

Had a dream last night and dreamt that we were 4:0 up after 16 minutes....mmmmmmm.
A little worried about this one, but hoping will be thinking after the match that there was nothing at all to worry about!
