It is amazing to think that three weeks ago we were fourteenth in the conference, nine points behind then leaders Halifax and six points behind current leaders Barnet after just five games. Now after five consecutive wins we are just off the top and will go into this game full of confidence and look to extend both this run as well as the unbeaten record (9) and clean sheets (4). Incidentally, Halifax, Barnet and Woking have all won five consecutive games already this season so a sixth for us would give us bragging rights and maybe even propel us to top place.
Dover probably aren't looking forward to this one seeing as they have just lost to local rivals Dartford mid week with England C goalie Mitch Walker picking up an injury which could mean reserve keeper, Lee Hook may get his first start since December 2012 in the conference south! Dover have had wins against Eastleigh and Telford as well as securing a 1-1 draw away at Grimsby so should not be underestimated. They have lost 1-0 on three occasions this season with Woking inflicting their heaviest defeat 6-1!
Hopefully, there will be an increased crowd at Plainmoor on Saturday and the team should be fully focused so as to avoid a banana skin as in the likes of the Southport and Dartford games. Hargreaves should be able to more or less choose his strongest XI with a decision on whether to start Cameron or not maybe the only selection dilemma. This is Wakefield's last game before his initial month's loan is up but Chris has made noises that he would like to extend his stay here with us. We do have the luxury of no mid week game next week prior to another two away trips away at Telford and Forest Green within 3 days of each other to complete a very hectic September!
COYY!

from BBC -
Dover Athletic have signed goalkeeper Andy Rafferty, defender Robert Gerrard and midfielder Matthew Saunders.
Rafferty, 26, left Hartlepool last month having made seven appearances in four years with the League Two club.
Saunders, 25, featured 45 times in two years with Dagenham but left the Daggers in May before a short spell at non-league Whitehawk.
Left-back Gerrard joins following his departure from Aldershot, having come through their youth ranks.
Could give them a boost or could be too early for those players to integrate in time for our game.
Regardless, I'm predicting a frustrating but 1-0 win.

Should be a comfortable win but they will raise their game of course and heard a few coming down for a weekend and a subsidised coach too so more than 30 !! Even though they lost last two games, Macclesfield 1-0 and Dartford 2-1 they should have won both. Macclesfield only had two shots all game and Dover missed plenty and they were winning the Kent derby on tues comfortably enough until the keeper got injured and no sub keeper on the bench for the last 20mins, hence two late goals.
However our defence are giving nothing away so would hope another clean sheet to them and a couple of goals to us.

Don't know anything about the keeper but wouldn't be surprised if he has a blinder on debut Should still get more goals than them. 2-0 I reckon

Barnet in mid week is a good example when they lost to a an inconsistent Wrexham side. Anyone can beat anyone in this league if the players mindsets are off kilter and the opposition smell blood. Tiredness can also take its toll with ten games played already and players sometimes wont even know if they have lost their edge until they get into a match so we have to be cautious. On paper Its an easy three points but I'm pretty certain that we are in for a tough match. Expectation levels are also rising which in itself creates pressure on individuals and I feel as supporters we have a part to play in that in that we continue to cheer and support players even when they make errors and mistakes. Lets keep this rare "wave" of success going for as long as we can.

Despite the frequent denials that they ever look further ahead than the next match, at this stage of the season many managers will have looked at the remaining fixtures and penciled in the points they can reasonably expect to get at each one. I am sure CH will have today down as a very possible 3-pointer. We have now performed well against the lower clubs, which gives us a great springboard for the games against the top half clubs. November and December will see us play some challenging matches and I wouldn't be surprised if CH has us down in all of them as having a good chance. There can be no better preparation than another win today. COYG!

Rovers have gone 1 up against Woking after only 3 minutes. They are now thundering up on the inside and sit only 3 points off the top. They also appear to be turning things around.

We now have the best last-6 record of all the clubs in the top 5 English leagues. A perfect played 6, won 6. Who'd have forecast that at the beginning of the season?
Lovin' every minute of it.
