Chile were amazing, an example to our over paid and overrated lot. Skill, fitness, commitment and a desire to win. I would be surprised if they earned half of what our top players do. As long as our top tier clubs insist on shipping in the best player in the world we will never ever be able develop players who will come even close to the South Americans or Germans come to that. Obscene amounts of money directed in the wrong areas and the quality of national team is the price we pay. England are now a third class football power even the African sides look better and perform better than us..

totally agree petef and the fact the two sides that beat us are also out already, shows us for what we are,a mirror image of Scotland,we will fail to qualify more often now for major events.

I'm not a gambling man, but if I had known what the odds were for Suarez biting somebody (175-1) i'm sure I would have put half a crown on it!

On my Facebook page before the WC, I predicted Germany-Netherlands as the final. Not seen anything to make me change my mind. I also predicted Brazil not to make it past the first knockout round. Got that wrong, admittedly, but they got lucky in that round. They still aren't good enough to win it, despite the home advantage.

USA also show up England for what they are! What a magnificent effort from "third world" footballers.
Having watched nearly every game of this world cup I realise now how gutless and poor we really were/are.
This Island of ours finally produces a world class player in Gareth Bayle and it turns out hes bloody Welsh !!
