I've just seen an interview with Kevin Keegan in which he talked about going for a six-week trial at Coventry along with a lad called Brian Joy.
Coventry took Joy on, but rejected Keegan.
Probably the right decision with hindsight. Joy went on to reach the very pinnacle of the game - representing Torquay United. Keegan never achieved that.

Coventry therefore came very close to having Brian Joy and Brian Joicey on their books at the same time. Possibly less than a 12 month gap between one departing and the other arriving.

Brian Joy had the pleasure of lining up alongside me which I am sure he still talks about! Keegan didn't. Indeed. Not only did Brian Joy play for the best team in the land - Torquay United. He also played for the second best team in the land - Torquay United reserves. Rather disappointingly, Brian's wiki page has a photo of him with a couple of blokes called Pele and Eusebio. Neither of them ever played for Torquay United or Torquay United reserves. Couldn't they find a photo of him with Steve Bennett, Bob Gray and Stuart McGowan? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Joy

Quite right Joe. Whereas Joy went on to the giddy heights of Torquay United and Torquay United reserves, nobody can remember where Joicey went after he left Highfield Road. He probably joined some mickey mouse club up North.

Keegan? Didn't he once manage a side that lost at Plainmoor to one of those "Golden Goal" efforts?
