I see that Bristol Rovers have lodged a complaint with the FA over Wycombe third party rights claiming an unfair advantage! Personally think with their crowds Rovers only have themselves to blame and looking forward to seeing them again next year. Anyone got some thoughts on this? link

Having now got used to Bristol Rovers being with us (and the fact that they are so much bigger than us, makes it seem less embarrassing for us), I would be gutted if they were somehow reprieved. Not that this is likely. I saw on another thread that the alleged indiscretion occurred in 2010.
How this has seen Wycombe gain an advantage over Bristol Rovers, 4 years later, when in fact they lost to Rovers, is 'unclear' at best and 'bullshit' at any other level.
Perhaps, as a result of this, Shrewsbury can somehow claim some sort of compensation, because they actually did lose out to Wycombe by one point, for promotion, in 2011 - the first part of the season being the year that this 'indiscretion' happened.
I suppose you cannot blame Bristol Rovers for trying but if the Football League were to go with this, the implications in terms of other clubs affected would be huge, so that is why Heggs, or whatever he is called, has no chance and he needs to aim his ire introspectively and accept the fact that he must take a big hit of responsibility for where Rovers find themselves.

Final game of 2012/13 season: Torquay United 3 Bristol Rovers 3. And it was a cracker. A year later and both teams are relegated.
For TUFC there are mitigating circumstances since Rene Howe and Brian Saah both left leaving gaping holes behind them, and Ryan Jarvis was a big loss too. For Bristol Rovers there are no excuses at all. Their fans helped make that day a brilliant one and they had every reason to expect to press on up the table this time around. They are probably, in terms of crowd potential, the biggest club to drop out of the League since Luton, and they only fell because of a 30 point penalty.
It took Luton many a year to get back as well, so there is no reason for the Gas to feel any cockiness about what they will come up against next season. Barton Downs & I went to see Alfreton Town v Cambridge United last season and it was a bleeding sight better spectacle and with superior skill on show than the Rochdale v Gulls game we had watched the previous weekend.
If you can't even manage not to lose at home to Mansfield on the last day of the season then you deserve what you get. Mind you, if Portsmouth had been deducted the customary 10 points.......
