Yesterday afternoon I got some non league footie in and it was identical to what I have been watching at Plainmoor all season. Home team dominant through most of the match, in yellow kit and then hit on the break and lose.
Went along to see Bucklands last game of the season against runaway winners Larkhall who have lost just one game all season and should be two now. In the first half Buckland missed FIVE good chances plus others and apart from one shocking miss from them too they then scored just before half time. Start of the second half it was all Buckland again but shots wide of the target, thought Benyon was playing for them. Then the killer second goal on the break with the home keeper making a howler, game over.
2-0 to the champs but Buckland played well at times and play it on the deck and no hoofing. Ellis Laight up front for them and Alex Jennin at the back. A crowd of exactly 178 (no didn't count was told) which was Bucks highest of the season. Will certainly try and get back there a bit more next season.

Torquay used this Bukta design in white as the home shirt in season 78/9 and 79/0. Does anyone remember Torquay wearing the yellow version as a change strip in any away game throughout 78/9 or 79/0. I only attended a few away games over those two seasons and i dont recall them wearing it. Can anyone confirm that this version was used as a change strip......

I still have that strip, in white, shoved in a drawer somewhere. All rather frayed now as I seem to recall wearing it on a fairly regular basis; I must dig it out someday...

I think they did use that yellow one. I always remember a news item about fullback, Graham Jones, in which his pen pic was him crouched down, wearing a vibrant all yellow kit, as your picture shows. There must have been a fair few occasions that they wore it, as I am sure we were not the only team wearing white.
I have also wondered what we wore as an away kit when the home kit was Dave Webb's Chelsea blue. Someone once told me (at the time), that it was red, (which seeing as our Oscar manufactured blue kit was of the same template as one once worn by Bournemouth - another Webb old club, is highly believable.)

Thanks for the info. Graham Jones was still at Torquay for the 82/3 season when we wore an Umbro design yellow home kit, which you might be remembering. Very interesting about wearing red in the Webb seasons, i have not heard that but sounds about right. Again in the handfull of away games that i attended in the Webb era i only remember Torquay wearing blue

Very interesting about wearing red in the Webb seasons, i have not heard that but sounds about right. Again in the handfull of away games that i attended in the Webb era i only remember Torquay wearing blue I think Jones originally came on loan from Luton, sometime during 1980, whether it was during the 79/80 season or 80/81, I can't remember. He then went back to Luton and reappeared as a permanent signing. Like you suggest, had it been 80/81 or 81/82, then it would have been the umbro kit. BUt it would likely have been a yellow version of the white home kit. The picture I saw was certainly not the yellow home shirt from 82-84, which lacked trim in the way the one from the picture posted, and the pen pic I remember had along the arms. I am trying to rack my brains, in case I am wrong that it was Graham Jones but it was certainly a yellow away kit (rather than the 82/84 home version). The template would have been the same as the home kit, as the Buckta one displayed was. The reason the picture stood out to me at the time was that Torquay wore white, and as far as I knew, had only ever wore white, seeing as it was 1979 when I started watching them. So to see something like that was quite startling for me then. I have always been a bit of a kit nerd. One of the sadder things about being relegated is that we are no longer in the season galleries on www.historicalkits.co.uk

I'm pretty sure that our away kit was all yellow at that time, so I think it is genuine.
