Great to reaquaint ourselves with three points. No mystery why rovers are where they are based on today's performance. First half was poor from both sides, labouring away with little end product and even less quality. Second half much better. CH must have told them to shoot on sight as Goodwin unleashed a fine shot about 20 seconds in, saved but resulted in a succession of corners. We took the lead after coulthirst touched in a good free kick from the lively Cameron. Our second tooka wicked deflection, at last a break going our way. Lady luck continued to smile on us when a decent header from Harold beat rice and crashed into the underside of the bar and was cleared. Thought we actually looked reasonably comfortable until stoppage time when rovers started to turn the screw, eventually scoring after rice had saved the initial shot. Time for one more nerve wracking attack which ended in a rovers shot going high, wide and not very handsome! Lots of gallows humour today. CH and the team came over to the fans right before KO to clap us, nice touch. Rovers I thought were shocking and we deserved the win. Too little too late but great to notch a win. Coulthirst and Cameron were impressive today, mansell had a decent game too. Pearce and o'connor solid at the back. Special mention to young Cargill at left back. Thought was decent today on debut and would not be disappointed to see him back next season on a longer loan. Biggest disappointment for me was harding. Consistently gave the ball away and clearly doesn't like tackling!

A most enjoyable afternoon out with a heady mixture of both goals and a deserved win! First half was a relatively tame affair not made easier by a poor pitch and the wind against us. Rovers had a couple of chances early on with a header just over and Rice having to be alert to drop on a loose ball from a corner but otherwise our goal was untroubled. Benyon was put through by Coulthirst but did not have the pace to get into a shooting position.
The second half started promising for us with a flurry of corners that unfortunately came to nothing. However, we kept probing and Cargill, making an impressive debut unleashed an audacious long range shot that the keeper was forced to tip over the bar. Coulthirst both started and finished the move that led to the goal. Firstly, his dribbling drew the foul abut 10 yards from the corner of the penalty box. Secondly, Cameron delivered the perfect cross, hard, flat at head height just outside the 6 yard box to flick off Coulthirst to give their keeper no chance.
The second goal was set up by Coulthirst with possession of the ball in the box, he laid it off to Manse whose shot seemed to take a slight deflection on the way to the back of the net!
We weren't unduly troubled until the last five minutes proper when we started to sit back and invite pressure with no outlet. Just before they scored, a headed cross hit the underside of the bar and then the line before being scrambled away so a deserved win almost was a draw.....

To little to late unfortunately and just like us to find a bit of form when it, in reality means little. Nice to see the younger players starting to perform I reckon this will be the pattern we be adopting under Hargreaves in the Conference and surely beneficial that he is close to Eddie Howe at Bournmouth and perhaps some recompense for the time when they stole our superb squad in the late sixties. Must admit the dark kit looks so much better than that pale lemon home wishy washy strip the one chosen by that huge committee, the supporters. Maybe we should all be picking the team each week as well! Now that would be interesting and imagine we would have nobody to blame .

The kit has ' changed' from the one that ' we' voted* for, in that the collar has been removed. If thet=y wore it with YELLOW shorts and YELLOW socks I'm sure it would look better! * How can you vote for something and then it changes without voting for it!
