It appears that Goodwin hit the post with a decent shot when it was 1-1. Now there is no way that one can blame our position on bad luck, but we have very rarely got the rub of the green this season - be it injuries, postponements or refereeing decisions. Take a deep breath and go again next game.

Well - seems like we did pretty well playing the top team on their own turf. Perhaps we now deserve a large dollop of good luck over the remaining games - we can still get out of this and the added incentive of proving the bed wetters on the other site wrong must prevail!

I just don't understand the psyche of some of our supporters. Just read the other website - most are never going again, have given up and are abusing all and sundry , Stefano apart that is who just tries to wind a few up but they are so thick they think that what he posts is serious. We all expected defeat against he best side in the division and we all expected to have a good go at them which we did. I am somewhat bemused by so much anger. Yes we are all disappointed it didn't go our way again but we still have time to put some results together and our rookie manager is doing the best he can with what he's got. This isn't his squad this is the squad he has inherited from our previous managers and he has no time and limited resources to change things for the better in a very short time scale. There is a time to criticise and there is a time to support our job now is to support and get behind the lot of them. While there is still the remotest chance we stay in the football league there is no way I am going to be negative, rude and insulting to my club and team.

After a dodgy first 10 minutes we settled to match Chesterfield, would not say comfortable, but holding our own. Even after we scored, Chesterfield did not look too threatening. But when Poke dropped his clanger, you could physically see the change in every one of our players. What ever we had before the goal, it was the opposite after. I think these players` confidence must be very fragile for this to happen. Do not know why Damo went off, but for me that changed the result. I really thought we would scrape at least a draw. Our defence with Downes in it creates big holes to allow the opposition forwards to score, and that is what happened. I reckon if Damo had stayed on a point was ours at least. Will put this down to two errors, one by Poke and one by Hargreaves. Seems every time we make a mistake, it costs us the game. Enough on show to make me realise if they can keep their concentration for the full 90 and not make stupid mistakes we will win some games. We do not look like a side who are relegation fodder, but we do seem to be good at losing games and that is worrying. I think our defence is crucial now. I hope Hargreaves knows now who his best defenders are and plays them each game. I personally feel that Nicolson and Downes should not be first choice as too many goals come from these two players. Do not want to knock, but Mansell was our worst player on the pitch by a mile yesterday. Everyone else did ok except for our forward who had two excellent chances to score and fluffed both. Do not know who he was cause I`ve lost track of all the new faces. Number 27? Just hope Benyon is not recalled as he would not have scored either, even though they were easy chances. The one he blazed over the bar must of given him a nose bleed!

We may well call .com the Kiddies Site but from what I can tell their nearly all old men and women that are the ones that carry on like infants! How about we refer to it as the Redneck Kneejerks Society For The Hard Of Thinking! To be fair to the younger ones on there, they are usually the more level headed and down to earth. I refered to the sound of knives being sharpened a while ago, well the noise has gone up ten fold!

All I can say is stick with it or stay away we do not need negativity right now its totally counter productive. If anyone wants to be negative and slag off footballers/ managers do it on the Wycombe , Northampton, , Mansfield, Bury forums and wind them up, it may just benefit us. As I said there is a time and a place for criticism after all we pay our money week after week and we expect players to give 100% on the pitch which I am totally convinced they are where as there was some uncertainty under Alan Knill who I reckon had lost a few with his selections and tactics. We are looking a better stronger unit despite the losses and all of us need to stick with it and shout yourselves horse and get behind the lot of them from now until we survive or were gone.
