Go to Wembley Stadium with Torquay United?
I said I would wait until Torquay United actually played at Wembley. People said I was mad.
"Considerable problems at United both on and off the pitch", "the current fight to keep League football at Torquay is certainly a desperate one - more desperate than some people may realise", "it is vital that you keep supporting us" , "a bad fall-off in gates could be disastrous".
Anyone who has an understanding of our club's history would know that these kind of comments have cropped up throughout the club's existence. Yet when I first posted on Mervo's forum it was to try to counter some revisionist history that all of TUFC's problems stemmed from Mike Bateson - that there had never been financial isssues, questions about our future and calls for greater support until Bateson invented all the problems as an excuse for not being bothered.
"Try to bring a friend next time" wasn't invented by Bateson. It wasn't invented by Rioch either.
