Billy Lucas is still there as manager as he was in 1956. Well that's not quite true as he'd had a break for a while in the early 1960s. All told he had twenty years managing Newport and Swansea. An almost exact contemporary of Eric Webber as it happens.
41/6d will book you a place on the excursion to Stockport County. Just a shame that the train back isn't until 19.39.
It's worth a thought that, just a few years ago, Newport would have aspired to be in the same league as Stockport again. Not any longer.
The Fort Snack Bar on Cambrian Street sounds promising but I think I'll rely on Chelston's local knowledge this Saturday.
