After a respectable start, we have a hard slog ahead of us with six of the next nine matches away, starting with a trip to Westcountry rivals Swindon, trying to progress in this competition for the first time in many a year. It was only in March last year that the two teams met at the County Ground but there have been many changes in the two teams since then. From a Torquay perspective, only Nico, Manse and Lathrope remain from those that started this match with Ricey on the bench. Youngsters Yeoman and Craig were the only other two in the squad at this time. Even bigger changes for Swindon with only goalie Wes Foderingham starting this match and in their 1-0 loss against Peterborough yesterday. However, four players were on yesterday's bench that were with Swindon but not in the matchday squad against us being Nathan Thompson, Miles Storey, Leigh Bedwell and Louis Thompson. The other link being Bobby O keeping a(nother) clean sheet, for Peterborough.
The one thing that came over loud and clear from our first match, was the need for the new players to integrate themselves into the side and to this end wouldn't be too surprised to see a similar side lining up. I can't see the defence being changed but would be interested to know how close Poke is returning to fitness with him being not deemed suitable to even sit on the bench! I thought Chapelle did well on Saturday and maybe derserves a start. Up front, I suspect Hawley is probably not fit enough to start and probably Benyon and Ball will try and built on their understanding. Benyon and Bodin of course, being Swindon old boys will want to try and leave their mark......

I would go with the same as Saturday but with Cruise at LB, Chapple on the right and CC on the left. Give the starting 11 pitch time to forge an understanding.
edit: Was it me or did CC check back and use his left foot when he put a couple of crosses in?

The youtube interview with Knilly seems to becoming a regular feature and he gives us his thoughts prior to the match hereI suppose the main thing to come out is that Poke is still feeling his thigh strain and will be out for another week to ten days - i.e. Swindon and Morecambe matches. Also, will be looking to improve the squad if he can and maybe will loan out a couple of players after 10 games, particularly if they are not getting that match experience. Also, seems we have arranged a friendly with Cheltenham next week, to give those that haven't featured yet, including Pokey I suspect, a run out....

Sounded like a very good first half for us but still scoreless. Not sure whether I should be disappointed or not....
