This is the first of three away games against lower opposition in the final run up to the start of the new season. Of more pressing concern is the need to fill the crucial central defence and striking positions and Rendell and Cooper will be looking to impress Knill. Otherwise, Knill will be looking to firm up his best starting XI and will be interesting to look at the line up.
Can we keep our 100% pre-season win record going?

Hope Chris McPhee scores a hat trick
Obviously I hope we score more than 3, though. I just want him to have a(nother) moment of glory against us. Hope he gets a good reception from the Torquay fans who are going

Ah, forgot that is where he ended up, I'm sure he will be up for this one, which is sort of the point of the exercise.

I think the Rendell and Cooper contracts are ready for them to sign in a drawer somewhere at Plainmoor...not that I mind because I think both of them will be good signings! Time is few on players me thinks and the signings we were told to expect on Friday didn't materialise...though allegedly they might be happening this weekend. Salisbury will be a good test for the team, after all, how many times have we heard that the Conference is not a great deal different from league two.

Just got back from the game which was very average and in the first half we hardly had a shot. Mansell was not he's usual self today and couldn't pass to a yellow shirt. Harding looked pretty tidy in midfield as did Lathrope when he come on. Rendell wins the prize for impersonating a footballer, he was terrible and looked uninterested. Niall Thompson looked a real threat again and tonge was steady at the back along with the rest of the defenders who were rarely troubled. Talking to the players outside they said the players that didn't start today will all start against Tiverton on tuesday.

Thanks for that again super! Doesn't' look good for Rendell, poor game, unfit and now injured, suspect Knill will be looking elsewhere.... Do you think Cooper did enough for a contract?
Looked like a pretty strong side yesterday but we do need to sort our striking options sorting out.

Shame about Rendell as always thought he did well last time he was here but things looking grim for him at the moment. Hopefully Knill has someone else in mind...the signings we've made so far are encouraging and I feel we have the makings of a decent side but without that big target man up front we may struggle to take advantage of the pace and talent we undoubtedly now have on the wings...

Cooper looks a decent player, I don't think he has been put under enough pressure in the air to decide if he will be able to cope with a big aerial threat. He looks very capable on the floor. Downsey was going up for most of the headers with cooper sweeping up behing. I'm quite surprised we haven't been able to attract a more traditional center half, but the guy has played in a higher division for a number of years so he must be doing something right.

Rendell is not doing himself any favours is he, if we do sign him this week then that puts a different slant on things. Stuart Fleetwood it seems has also left Luton and signed for a non-league club. If we were going to look at Luton players, surely he would have been a better option!

Tha Salsbury Number 4 played well - otherwise a pretty workman like performance from the two teams which at this stage of proceedings doesn't mean too much perhaps?
