It's 307 miles from Plainmoor to the Globe Arena but this could be one of the most important journeys of the season for the Gulls due to the perilous nature of the bottom of League Two
Morecambe managed to pull clear at the right time. They are now up to 16th in the table on 55 points, officially safe from relegation back to the Conference. But their form is not all that great, the Shrimps having been inconsistent in recent weeks - they have won 1 of their last 8, but that win was at home to promotion-chasing Rotherham; they also drew 3 of the other 7 matches 1-1. Perhaps key to this is their form against the sides at the bottom, which hasn't been good - they have lost to Wimbledon, Barnet and Accrington since the start of March, though in February they did beat Aldershot and York
Also in our favour is the recent record between the two sides. They first met in 2009 and Torquay have lost just twice to Morecambe in that time - both in Morecambe, once at Christie Park in March 2010 and once at the Globe Arena in January 2011. But we are unbeaten in our last 3 encounters, having won 1-0 in October, 2-1 in Morecambe last January and drew 1-1 at home in October 2011. The signs suggest we should be optimistic heading into this one

Thanks James another fine opening post for the match day thread. For me as long as our players work as hard as they did on Tuesday night, then this will be a very winnable game. I have a funny feeling we will win and results will go our way elsewhere meaning it won’t all come to the last game of the season for us.
Well that’s what we are all hoping for I’m sure as then we can put this season to bed and wait for the news later on as far as building a new team for next season is concerned.

I see 3 points for us in Morecombe (where the hell is Morecombe) for us on Saturday, other results will work in our favour so that we will be able to go into the Bristol match without having to worry about the result.
Last weekend I went to Bielefeld to visit my daughter (bielefeld gull) and watched Bielefeld play Wehen Wiesbaden in the German Third Division. 10,000 spectators and a very enjoyable game which Bielefeld won 3-1 to stay second in the table.

I can happily say I am going to this match ...leaving tomorrow. I'm staying in the area for a couple of weeks so I won't be around to see the jubilation or utter dejection from my fellow TUFC followers on this site because the trouble and strife has banned me from going anywhere near a computer during that time. So obviously I won't be around for the reaction from our last two games...HUZZAH I hear some of you cry...if not all of you! I said to the missus recently that she had no idea how difficult it was being a follower of TUFC, to which her reply was..." you have no bloody idea how difficult it is being married to a follower of TUFC!"
As a footnote...could the person who keeps voting for me as poster of the month please stop it!
Unless of course the voting thing has stuck on.

Up in Morecambe now. It is not a particularly nice place, long seafront. Can't wait for tomorrow. PMA required by all. Going up Scafell Pike now with the girlfriend. Can't say there is a big match atmosphere here at the moment. I am sure it is going to be a Carlislesque moment tomorrow.

Went there for a half day last July with the wife when in the Lake District for a week. Half a day was too much, the place is a hole. We both left the soul-less seaside dive depressed and I vowed never to return. But here I am committing to a Saturday "out" to make the considerably-shorter-for-me-than-others journey in search of three valuable achievable points. I stop off at Crewe to pick up train spotter Teddgull and then on to a photoshoot for him with Eric's statue and apparently fish,chips and a beer. I'm looking forward to the day out, 3points and the banter, but certainly not the location....

I see that Morecambe are struggling in the centre half department and may have to give a debut to a teenage player. I hope that Knill keeps the 4-4-2 formation, partly to exploit this but mainly because we need the three points and hopefully we can continue with the level of performance shown on Tuesday. I think three points may well ensure our survival and if this is the case, will send a competitive squad to Plymouth on Tuesday?

I think the best thing for me today is not stay at home and listen to the game on the radio. So it’s off to watch Stoke Gabriel play at home to take my mind off the game. I do hope I can get a good signal out there so I can check how we are doing at halftime.
All I want is a win and results to go our way else where so we can get some much needed cheer back on the forum. Fingers crossed by 5pm today we will be safe from the drop and can then look forward to a much improved next season,

Today is one of those days where form books and table positions go out of the window. It wouldn't surprise me if Wimbledon battle out some sort of result at Gillingham just as York managed to win at Northampton last week. Its all still in the air but we will know what is required by five o'clock.
Lets all hope we can get the result we desperately need and lets face it we are due an away win having the worst away record in the division with just three victories on the road surely it has to change today but we need to put it all in again as we did on Tuesday.
