Showing my ignorance here, but having just bought a new satnav (first one) does anyone know if I can charge the damn thing while I am driving?

oh yes you can reg,cigarette lighter adapters are made for all modern sat-navs,just make sure the adapter fits your sat-nav slot that you get

Thanks for that reply mate, I should have been a bit more explicit though. I'm sure I read somewhere that you shouldn't charge it while the engine is actually running i.e. driving, because of surges from the battery if you accelerate or something!
I don't know whether it's a good or a bad thing that modern gadgetry has passed me by!

wont be affected at all reg,best place for an in car charger is ebay,wont hurt the sat nav one bit,are you getting sat nav in readiness for braintree and dartford lol

Braintree and Dartford...I wouldn't imagine those places are programmed into a Satnav! Thanks for the info though mate...unlike some of the other miserable gits on this site!

An in car charger will work fine Reg sat navs phones etc have built in protection should the voltage ever gets to high
