Does the Merrin Cup and/or the Owen Charity Cup mean anything to anyone?
I have a ball which came from the Tavistock area that was used in The Merrin Cup Final of 1934 and The Owen Charity Cup Final of 1935. As yet I can find nothing on either of these competitions except that Merrin is a well-known family name from the area and Owen is a name that has cropped up as a benefactor of local football at that time, mainly James Owen who supplied the trophy for the East Devon & Victory League's Express Competition.
Any snippet of info gratefully received!
