Last minute decision to go this one.
Cadbury scored early on. Buckland laid siege after that but the ball just would not go in the net so HT score was 0-1.
Buckland equalised in the first minute of the second half and then went ahead with a screamer from their very impressive no 9 (Gavin Hammon?). Unfortunately, the lead did not last long and a game Buckland will feel they should have won ended 2-2.
A warm welcome at Homer's Heat. Met Rich's dad as well as buying a very nice bacon bap and a mug of coffee off his mum.
Plainmoor will always be my place of worship, but Buckland is a good afternoon out when the Gulls aren't at home. It would be good for football in the area if they can press on and take the next step up to the Southern League.

Likewise Jon. A last minute decision and a good one too! For me it was an entertaining game of Western League football that ended in a draw.
I did get some stick from the locals, who were chuffed to bits that their game survived the recent weather, where as our game fell to the elements. What they seem to forget are the further reaching implications of hosting a football league match, rather than a level 9 fixture.
Good to see a few familiar faces and accept the usual warm reception. And as for the stone wall penalty not given to visitors in the second half, nobody saw it! I wonder if it will be on a highlights programme on TV later tonight.

Buckland Athletic groundstaff worked from first light to get this game on , removing standing water and sanding heavy areas, their efforts were rewarded with nearly 200 fans attending a top of the table clash.
Torquay scarves were evident amongst the fans Jon, Keyerrygull were just a few spotted.
With the game going ahead it was the only Western league game to get the green light to beat the severe weather conditions throghout the country.
The game started well for the visitors and took an early lead when Matt Huxley scored from a header at the far post to beat home keeper Kenny Griffiths.
Buckland were having the majority of the play but the Cadbury Heaths keeper was making some fine saves from Revell and Wright.
The referee who had a good game brought an end to the half and a well earned hot drink was needed with the temperature only just above freezing.
With the fans still coming out of the clubhouse Buckland drew level in the 46 minurte, Dean Stevens picked the ball up on the edge of the box and fired in one of his rasping shots the keeper could not hold it and parried it away, but it fell to Gavin Hammon to bury the rebound 1-1.
Buckland continued to press forward and took the lead on the hour mark when Hammon was put throgh by Mike Booth Gavin cut inside to the by line and he shot accross the keeper, the keeper got a hand to it but the ball went just inside the far post. This goal by Gavin was his 24 th for the season and takes him to the top of the Western league goal scoring charts.
Cadbury Heath who are second in the league, looked to get back into the game , and with Sasha Tong who had been causing problems with his pace all afternoon, brought the scores level, from close range.
Buckland then had a let off when Cadbury looked to have a stone wall penalty appeal turned down, by the referee, he must have been the only person to think otherwise.
The referee brought an end to this highly entertaining game and in the end a draw was a fair result to both teams .

Thanks for your reports on this game, I was so very close to coming along myself, but must be getting old as I did not fancy being outside on such a cold day. Buckland is a great club that always make everyone feel so welcome and the football on offer is always exciting and well worth the entrance fee.

It's at times like this that I miss living in Torquay as this game sounded so good and the club sound so friendly.
Also we have been freezing up here for the past week and it's still snowing now!!!
Glad I'm retired and don't have to go out in it.
