A story in todays HE, claims that 15 police officers were called to Boots & Laces on Friday night, after reports that 40 people were involved in a mass brawl.
It seems it had ended by the time they arrived(most things have by then) but there was broken glass inside and out and people who were injured.
This is not the sort of publicity the club needs, now that it has taken over Boots. So who uses Boots on Friday nights? is the customers mostly TUFC fans, or does it get used by mostly local people?.
Much has been in the papers lately, about the gangs of young people who are causing problems in and around the Plainmoor area, but I would have thought as these are many kids, well at least under age and one would think, would not be allowed into Boots, then I do not think they would have been involved.
Football these days, is so much more a family pastime and we see mums, dads and their children, coming to games together, I had hoped such families would also be catered for at Boots, as a way of getting fans and the club more together.
Stories of trouble in Boots will do only harm and would put of many people from wanting to go there, lets hope it is a one off and that Boots does not become known as a trouble spot. I for one had great hopes that the club would use Boots now, to get fans up there during the week, for all the reasons I've given in other posts before.

For anyone as thick as me, it is Boots and Laces rather than Boots the chemist. It took three paragraphs to dawn on me and until then was wondering why it would adversley effect TUFC!

On Fridays there is usually Skittles on at Botts n Laces in the family roo, at the far end of the pub. I dont think there the type of people who would cause trouble as they are usually made up of the `Older Generation` of people. The other end of the pub is usually made up of regular people and local residents who go there for a few pints and they are the type of people who may have one pint to many so thier the most likly to have been involved in the brawl.
