Does anybody have the latest installment from the Sports Interactive series? Personally, I dont, as, due to the new 3D match engine they've added for this year, it won't work on the computer because of the graphics. I'm saving for a laptop, but doubt I'll get that before Christmas. I was just wondering if anybody had already bought the game and what they thought of Torquay, and the game in general. My elder brother has it, and started as Torquay to look at the stats and Tim Sills has been improved a great deal, which is very good; his heading stat is 16/20 and his finishing stat is 15/20, which is excellent for a BSP striker. Another nice touch in the game this time is that they've created all of the under 18's instead of making up players they've actually made players like Jordan Charran, Ashley Yeoman, Cameron Kelly et al. I look forward to getting the game for Christmas, but for the next month or so I shall be sticking to FM 2008. So basically, the point of this thread was to find out if any members have already bought the game and to hear their opinions on whether it has a lot of improvements compared to previous games or no.

Sorry nick,I can't help you, never been one for manager games, but then not really a gamer anyway. I have played some games, not the ones where you get killed, because I never past the first round.
Driving games and Fifa football would be the only sort for me, had the new Fifa ever year, until we went down to the BSP and our team was not on the game anymore.

Aw thanks for the compliments Nick - I did the research on TUFC for the game this year...a lot of work for no pay as usual. I did get a free copy of the game, but haven't had the time since Friday to get very far into it.
I had to improve a few of the TUFC players because based on the rankings the previous researcher put in, we'd have only been mid-table LOL!! The only things I regret, having had to get my files in for a certain deadline, were making Chris Hargreaves an accomplished centre-back (HAH) and not giving Ty Thompson a better rating for his work up front.
I enjoyed researching the youth players as well, and it helped me actually seeing them play a bit while I was back home in Torquay over the late summer.
And by the way, you don't have to use the 3D match engine if you don't want - it can be over-ridden as I have at the moment while I await delivery of a more powerful laptop. Just note, there were a lot of bugs in the release this time, so when you get the game make sure you download the patch that was released on the same day as the game.

Well I think you've done a grand job, capitalgull!! I think it's going to be an improvement on the 2008 game, but I'm sticking with that one until X-mas. I know you don't have to use the 3D engine, it's just this computer hasn't got a good graphics card, and I've read around that the game won't install if your graphics card isn't very good. I doubt I'll have a laptop by X-mas, but if I have the game and it doesnt work on this computer I will continue to save my money for a laptop.
