You say Bucks not being at the Lewes game wouldn't affect the result, what if we go behind early in the 2nd half? Surely you would want the manager there to make any tactical changes needed to get back into the game? If North and the senior players are deemed capable of doing this themselves then why do we employ Buckle?
I really can't see how Buckle making the trip to Dorchester is more important than being in charge of his team in a vital (they are all vital!) league match. He doesn't personally watch all of our opponents before we play them but regularly relies on reports from people he trusts and that is exactly what he will be doing next Tuesday! As has been stated above, his comments were made when he thought the replay would be this week.

I agree Jerry! To be honest, I'd rather Buckle be at our game than at Dorchester. He could send North there - as I think North would be put under instructions from Buckle as to what to look specifically for. Also, another reason I'd prefer Buckle to be at our game is because we play better football when he's on the touchline!

In view Of what you have said about when he thought the game was being played, then this may not even be any thing we need to worry about Jerry.
North Is at every game and I'm sure he not only knows the team well, Its strong points and Its weak points, but also what Bucks would do, If tactical changes were needed. Most fans who watch the team and know the players could see how a game was going and dare I say, would know what changes needed to be made, to the team, If things were not going the way we would like.
What happens If Bucks gets Ill for a short time, who Is going to make those decisions then? the thing Is do you not feel that with the chance Of the Lewes game being a game we should not lose, that doing what Is felt Is needed to get the team Into the third round, should be top Of the list.
We need to think and look longer ahead than just the next game Or two and trying to get as much cash into the club has to take priority.

You're 'avin a larf there aren't you? I can't believe some of the nonsense I have been reading on this thread. ALL managers have occasions that might take them away from a particular match and ALL of them have assistants who are fully attuned to their way of thinking and in whom they have one hundred per cent confidence. In all reality, the manager possibly DID make that comment in the mistaken belief that the replay would be in the immediate week following as it is in all the rounds before the First Round. But if he WAS to miss any game, Sean North is perfectly capable of doing the exact job he is contracted to do without getting the "approval" of sweet chucking and sweet "dogging" (ooh err missus!) miscreants who suffer from Attention Deficiency Syndrome to bring on Danny Stevens as replacement keeper. Indeed the very thought of "most fans knowing what changes needed to be made" conjures up nightmares such as a certain winger being sent back to Exeter forthwith and a particular defender being put on "car park" duties!

Merse I think you will find I said North was more than capable to stand In for Bucks If needed. Yes I do duck those sweets and talk and miss things at times, but I will defend my point that most fans, know when, say a sub needs to be brought on and when changes need to be made. Strange that the whole crowd can often see It, when managers fail too, or they make the changes that nobody agrees with, still sure you will tell me, Its the manager who gets paid and therefore he has to be right, the 2000 fans watching, just don't have a clue, or know what they are talking about.

Its quiet easy, Paul Buckle will be at the Lewes game on Tuesday and there is a scouting network called scout seven who will attend the Dorchester game on Tuesday and report back. The league is the priority.

Im pleased to hear that Bucks will be there on Tuesday. He wouldn't want to miss his side (hopefully) break a club record, surely?!
