I´m waiting to hear the attendance, first home game for a few weeks but on a Tuesday evening against a side near the bottom of the league and another home fixture on Saturday. Could struggle to make 2.000!
2,280 quite a reasonable gate.

Very scrappy match. Was there helium in the match balls? Certainly spent more time in the air than on the floor!! Daggers were very quick to close players down and battled hard to try and get something. Weve certainly seen worse teams visit this season. I thought before the game it would be a mistake to start Howe ahead of Atieno and i didnt see anything during the game to make me change my mind. We did look more of a threat once they swapped and Danny was so unlucky with a slight deflection close to the end when i thought it was going to creep in at the far post from a lovely run and shot. What a cracking goal from Manse though. We did enough despite a few scares and to be honest, im not sure a couple of teams down the bottom will reach 45 points by the season end so we're quite probably safe now

I hope Oastler is OK after going off. Dot com talks about winning ugly and when you are on a good run you seem to be able to grind out results when not at your best. Onward to the weekend when I think we will need to raise our game.

Win ugly would be my summing up too.
A scrappy game, but we were solid when we needed to be.
I thought it was telling that when Oastler had to go off, we used left-footed LRT at right back.
The obvious move would have been Robbo to right back and Saah on alongside Ellis.
But such is the new-found solidity of the Robertson / Ellis combination that the manager did not want to disturb the pairing.
Excellent performances from both again tonight - and more importantly excellent combination between the two. Long may it continue.

Better an ugly win than an amazing loss. It wasn't a great game of football, but the result was just grand. Dagenham really do insist upon the game being played ugly and aerial, not that we didn't seem to do it ourselves. Howe was absolutely useless as well.
Felt a bit sorry for the 39 Dagenham fans, ha, but this run is brilliant.

A superb run that has now seen us take 32/39 points and another win on Saturday would see us average an amazing 2.5 points per game over almost one third of the season. Outstanding!

Why thanks! Indeed, it's quite odd to see Torquay doing quite so well. Nice though! It was my first live game in a while, I'd forgotten just how much I enjoy going to Plainmoor.

the football history archives are littered with clubs winning silverware and promotion on the back of ugly 1-0 wins, and i for one would take that

Cracking bit of poetry in the programme... ahem! The poem was yours? I read that as I was going through the programme last night - thought it was really good. The programme in general was great as well.

I too thought that Saah would come on for Oastler with Robbo shifting to RB. Interesting then that LRT came on as RB.
I didn't think Rene Howe had a good game last night. If I was Atieno I would have been disappointed to be on the bench but think he did enough (as Howe was poor) to start at the weekend.
