I suspect Barton Downs could find something interesting to occupy himself with in most parts of the country! Either that or it's a perfect opportunity to do some Christmas shopping in beautiful Stoke on Trent! Perhaps this will provide a clue?

Did you go and watch Stalybridge Celtic, BD?! I would liked to have watched Stalybridge Celtic but no! Good work, I suspect, with the magnifying glass, and you've certainly managed to decipher a very similar place name to where I was yesterday.

Looks like the little train that takes you around the Midlands... so quite possibly Bartie ended up at Stratford?
Or did he visit the home of the great cup minnow-killers, Stourbridge?
I think I'll go for the second guess...

I think I'll go for the second guess... In fact, as my researches have revealed, it’s a Parry People Mover (Class 139 in railway speak) which – uniquely - takes passengers on the 0.8 mile branch line between Stourbridge Junction and Stourbridge Town. Apparently that’s one of the shortest branch lines anywhere, and should you have been to Kidderminster by train, you’ve probably passed through Stourbridge Junction without realising. I was at Stourbridge for the FA Trophy game against the reformed Chester FC, a fixture I’d noticed as soon as our game at Port Vale was re-arranged. With vouchers for the Stevenage game on offer – I politely declined one - and a goodly number of Chester supporters present, the attendance nudged 1,500. 2-0 to Chester.

Fair play to the people of Stourbridge. If they can stomach the indignity of using such a ludicrous looking mode of transport then good luck them!
