Just read this in the old Herald Excuse ...... about the dryness of the pitch ... having an effect on our passing game ...... This is tosh of the highest order
Yesterday I watched The League 1 final on that very same "dry" pitch ....... and both teams had no problem knocking the ball about very effectively ....... But what I did notice .... on Saturday was that nobody was slipping and sliding about ..... like they do at Plainmoor most Saturdays ........
Now I am no way criticizing our hallowed turf ... which is in superb condition .... in fact if I see Scotty on Match Day I always congratulate him on the surface ......
I just believe that this watering of the pitch to within an inch of its life minutes before KO is not the way to go ........
This thing of .....we cant pass effectively ... unless the pitch is wet.

Really hate to dissapoint you but it isn`t tosh I`m affraid! Water on the blades of grass reduces the ball from bobbling and helps it skim across the grass faster, this improves pass accuracy and passing speeds which is what enhances our playing style! You can believe what ever you want but what I`m telling you is fact, nee it`s science!
