I don't think I'll ever go to a stadium like that again, at least in England
I almost feel sad. Despite the fact that it's an awful stadium, there was a kind of rustic charm about the way it had been neglected

Yes, the Don Valley was a weird one. Felix has commented on how it was built for the World Student Games of which nobody had heard. Well, that event actually dates back to the 1920s and has a higher profile in many other parts of the world. I'm sure I'd heard it mentioned at least once before it came to Sheffield in 1991. Indeed several of the preceding games had been held behind the Iron Curtain which should pave the way for a wry comment from Alpine Joe.
If I get the chance a few demolition shots may follow over the next week or two.

It'll have provided some good and bad memories for the people of Sheffield. Not a greatly loved stadium, although I never like to see a sporting venue demolished.
