Although it is Stevenage's first season in the league (much to our benefit) they are of course old friends from the conference. Sills and Laird both started last week and will be hoping to make an impact against their old club. It will be a hard match against the bsp champions who are unbeaten at home in the league this year. They will however, have to do without Wilson after collecting a red card on Saturday. I think that it will be more of an open game and hopefully two strikers will be played up front and if Benyon is fully fit then he will cause their defence some problems. By the way, nice to see a picture of him on dot com standing unaided! ;D O'Kane must be very close to getting a start and I wouldn't be surprised if Buckle found a place for him. It has taken something very special to breach our defence this season and if we can score first there will be a good chance that we can go on and get that win to maintain our place at the top of the league.

My second away game of the season after Southend. Hopefully the lads are up for it from the start and give the Borough hell! That's all we can ask for, effort!

Taking my youngest along as a thinly veiled birthday treat for him (8 today!). Hoping for a good game and can see us sneaking it 1-0, shouldn't be too much trouble shackling Zorro....

I too am really looking forward to tomorrow. Tidy ground, good parking and a compliant (beatable) opposition. One of favourite ever Torquay awaydays (in over 15 years) was 12th April 2008. Seem to remember that we went 1-0 down, before absolutely destroying them in the second half to win 3-1. It was one of those rare occasions where the other side go ahead and their fans start giving it the big one, but you just KNOW that you are going to turn it around. Plus it was sunny; plus I added to my collection of 'cuddle-shot' photos with Helen Chamberlain

Can anyone recommend a pub for some lunch and a pré match pint?
Duncan Adam's site recommends the Club House at the ground. That's about it, the rest appear to be in the town centre?

The only worthwhile pubs in Stevenage are located in the Old Town which means walking in a different (northerly) direction than you need to walk to get to the ground from the station. The social club on the ground which is located behind the away stand is very good and I do believe they do bar meals. You'll feel very much at home at Broadhall Way ~ if I bring myself to call it "The Lamex Stadium" I get visions of Tim Sills lap dancing rather like Alan Partridge! it has the look and feel of a typically small Scandinavian/Dutch stadium, set as it is; amongst the fir trees.

Hubby on his way to the game, in serious tailbacks on the M4 junction 14-15 is closed, the team coach is stuck and the supporters coach, so might be a delayed kick off.

So over the past fortnight Benyon has not been under the close supervision of Damian Davey, worth his weight in gold according to Bucks, but instead has been mentored by John Milton who, one presumes, the club couldn't afford to employ if he was worth his weight in gold.

Really looking forward to seeing the team for myself for the first time since Barnet away last season! I'v got to deliver Anthony to A Class in a minute where he will be working with the coaches and the Soccer Tots this morning before training with his own age group from 1pm. I'm so pleased he is enthusiastically helping out with the little ones and putting something back into a club which is doing so much for him and that he is recognising that at such a young age. As soon as I've dropped him off I'll be off to catch a train for the twenty minute ride to Stevenage from Finsbury Park and his mum will pick him up at 3pm just as I'm settling into my seat..............that's the plan anyway. A tough game today, and as the manager says; a well organised and professional opponent with a great little ground and inspring crowd behind them. They'll be up for it and it won't be easy.............whenever was it on the road? Anything accrued in the way of points will have to be points hard earned in my opinion.

Don't worry Anna, according to the Herald, the squad travelled up yesterday!
I do hope, however, that all those on the way do make it in time for kick off

Reading what Paul Buckle had to say about Elliot Benyons fitness I would be very surprised if he plays any part into days game, but then we have all read such statements in the past and the player concerned not only started but played the whole game. I'm off to Brixham again this afternoon to a pitch I have not been to before and so won't have the same problems I had last Saturday. It seems we will have a number of TFF members at the match and look forward to reading some good match reports later this evening.
