Lambie, I like to think of myself as a Libertarian and I wouldn't say my thoughts are either left, middle or right. This is a concept dreamt up to divide us. The reality is that it is the same thing. Socialism or National Socialism. Libertarians arn't on the axis. we subscibe to neither. As for the middle ground so called Liberals they are just interefering busy bodies who can't make their minds up and will wait to see who wins. I found this on youtube
I think the American Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independance should be adopted in the UK. It was written before the PC brigade came along to spoil everyones fun and puts the trust back in to the peoples hands. Also it enshrines that Government should be minimal and points out the dangers of allowing privately owned banks to have too much power. Sadly America has allowed Socialists and Bankers to wrest control from the people and it's going to take a massive effort from them to get it back, but at least they have their Constitution to guide them.

I think the American Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independance should be adopted in the UK. The American Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights are interesting documents with many admirable features, but the latter two in particular are both nationalist and statist and written firmly in the liberal tradition. Any constitution by definition is authoritarian because rather than being simply a set a first principles it becomes a stick with which to crush dissent and uphold an established order. The idea of transplanting such a set of provisions into the UK or any other country is frankly presposterous…how on Earth as a libertarian do you propose to do that by consensus?!! Which bit?

LOL, as I wrote that I just knew the bugger would pull me up on it! I should have referred to John Adams, Benjamin Franklin and many other Founding Fathers dislike of big Gov't and Banks. They wrote it with an eye on trying to stop what has happened. One of the reasons they gave the right to bear arms was that the people would have the ability to fight back against tyranny. Which is why they're trying to take them away. You are quite right Lambie it would be impossible to push thro.
