Imagine if Torquay United did not exist. Quite simply which football team would you support.
My second team has always been Spurs.

Imagine if Torquay United did not exist. Quite simply which football team would you support. Capital Gulls FC............even if they do only play once a year these days! Clubs who's atmospheres have always attracted an empathy from me are..............Wolves, Bristol Rovers, Sheffield Wednesday;and now AFC Wimbledon. Whilst in Germany I love the very special atmospheres at St Pauli* and Erzgebirge Aue. *Everyone should treat themselves at least once in their lives to a weekend of the Millentor on a Friday night followed by a night out on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg................but not with yer missus For me it's the culture and ambience of a ground that attracts me, not the football.

Because I used to share a house with a Portsmouth fan, I've always had a soft spot for Pompey and was delighted for Harry and his lads when they won the FA Cup.
And as Merse says, St Pauli will always be my German side along with Schalke 04 after swapping a TUFC mug for one of theirs at one of the greasy spoons on the A1 on one of many journeys north watching the Gulls!!

My second team has always been man u, supported them for ever until that fateful day that I wandered into Plainmoor and fell in love with Torquay United. As A kid it was Leeds really, as all the kids seemed to say it was their team. I Took an interest in Man U when Lee Sharpe left our club to join them. Well when I found my lovely wife little did I know she had four boys, all Liverpool fans. So its me and Ant V the four boys. at least the man u part of the family has come out on top lately

It's The Arsenal for me. (sorry Sean) As my kids support them................they're in their Gooners kits right now, I feel compelled to constantly sing: Up The Arse, Up The Arse, Up The Arse - It's a great way to make friends around here!

My only team from abroad has to be Ajax, due too the great Dutch family who I got to know many years, while they were on Holiday at torquay. They stayed in a hotel that only had one entertainer all week ME ;D
I most confess to having problems traveling in most forms of transport. I do drive over 1400 miles a week, but have a problem when I lack control to get out of anything,
So to get to Holland was a Major problem. But got on the National Express to London, train up to the ferry port and on a ferry to the Hook of Holland. Only 19 hours and he gets here in just over an hour on flybe to Exeter ;D ;D
Did the tour of the Amsterdam arena, well it was only me and Rolf, so we had the guide to our selfs.
I was asked my view on the pitch, my view was that it looked excellent. No the guide said Ajax say its rubbish and won't play on it, so a new pitch will be laid tomorrow. Life at the top.

Hot news from the CHAOS Cup, the boys dun good again - not the Cup but the Plate (for best runners ups in the qualifying groups) to add to the one they got two years ago. So that's silverware for three successive seasons............well done boys - now I reckon like all good Derby Day winners the "stud rights" must be worth a fortune!

my first team was Burnley before I moved to devon in 85,I still look out for their results though the only time I have been back there was as a Torquay fan when Tom Kelly tryed to pass back to the keeper from the half way line. Not a game to remember!
