I was more upset to learn the Exmoor Emperor had been shot dead and many deer lovers are becoming increasingly worried about the number of rich sports people going to Exmoor to shoot its finest stags as trophies. They are prepared to spend £1000 just to shoot a fine stag and should such a fine animal die in this way just so someone can get some sort of pleasure killing him? I listened on the J.Vine show the debate on this subject and the reasons claimed culls need to be done to protect the deers future, that may be the case and I’m not in a position to give my views on that, but I’m a firm believer that nature should be left to take care of itself as it does a far better job on its own and things only seem to go wrong when we humans start interfering with it.

not being of religious thought it has often occurred to me that if him above does exist he must surely now regret us being allowed to venture this beautiful planet. The creatures and fauna that inhabit this earth are truly breathtaking and amazing along with the magnificent terrain, but regrettably we are on it,poisoning killing and destroying all that is good. For the supposed cleverest creature we are without turning out to be the most stupid. How the hell can someone get any sort of pleasure in killing a proud creature as above? only man has the answer

Killing a wild animal for husbandry purposes (culling) I can't really get upset over. Herds need to managed in the same way that forests and arables do...............that has gone on in this world since time immemorial. Killing an animal for vanity however, is a sin and a crime. Jesus Christ are there still people out there who's only "proof" that they have seen an animal in the same way that a train spotter has seen a locomotive, needs to be the decapitated remains of the corpse put on display..................it's life wiped out purely as proof of their expertise with a fire arm? If that's the case why not assassinate a politician and stick it's head on a wooden shield in one's living room? As for the "Octopus" ~ well we know that such creatures have more intelligence than mankind, but like venison; Calamari is very tasty so I say eat the bloody thing and get on with it and you might find yourself suddenly gaining superhuman powers that enable you to win the lottery this Saturday!

That's bloody cheap, squid costs me £9.99 a kilo at my local fishmonger! I gut it and chop it myself, and barely fry it in butter and garlick with just a dash of virgin olive oil.............three minutes maximum; then serve it in freshly made tagliatelle boiled with virgin olive oil and sea salt in the water then garnished with finely chopped flat leafed parsley. Beautiful!

It looks normal to me Phil and nothing has been changed to the width, where are you having this problem? is it just in the last 75 posts, or on one thread or every thread you view? If it is on just one thread can you post the link to the thread for me. many thanks Dave
